It can be referred as the ways or means through which the practical human objectives can be attained by a considerable level. In other words, technology transformed the way about how the human interact, interpret and perform their respective operational functions. It has been apparently observed that previously people had to make more efforts in order to perform a simple work. However, the notion of technology made the humans’ job easier as well as simple and reduced their work related difficulties at large. In is in this context, social changes can be defined as the shifts in human attitudes as well as behaviors that differentiate society in an effectual manner. Advancement in technologies significantly made positive changes in the social aspects. In this regard, technology provides certain advanced means that helps to improve the human attitudes as well as behaviors within social context in a positive manner (Kubesh, Katie, Mcneil, Niki, and Bellotto, Kimm 10). Thesis statement This discussion intends to critique the proclamation that the aspect of technology certainly gets better over time and always lead towards positive social changes. Evolution of Technology over Time and Its Relation to Positive Social Changes Technology is regarded as the process that makes significant effort in meeting the human requirements such as shelter, food, health as well as communication. Advanced technologies have been getting better over a period of time that intends to provide significant facilities with the intention of improving the society. It can be affirmed that the idea of technology has developed the living standard of the societal members by a greater extent throughout the last decade and is still continuing to perform such function. It has been apparently observed that technology has provided advanced amenities to different people belonging to any communities by systematic employment of science. Previously, social interaction among the people living in different regions was viewed to be quite due to lack of communication as well as interaction. However, in recent days, with the introduction of innovative technologies such as mobile phones and internet, people can interact with each other quickly without facing any difficulties. In the past, distance was considered to be one of the critical factors that restricted social interaction among people. But now, the distance barriers are resolved by various technological inventions. In today’s modern world, people can reach one part to other part of the world in a single day with the help of airplanes. Moreover, computers and laptops among others are regarded to be certain valuable gifts of technological inventions that are playing a major role in varied sectors (Sawyer, “Social informatics: overview, Principles and opportunities”). Computerization has been playing pivotal role towards leading positive social changes. In this regard, the aspect of social informatics can be referred as the study of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that justifies the interaction of people with institutional as well as cultural contexts. It also includes an organization as well as society in the process. The notion of social informatics is fundamentally distinguished by certain important features that include social studies on Information Technology (IT) as well as sociology of computing. In relation to technological advancements, various social networks like Facebook and Twitter among others are regarded to be the valuable inventions of internet technology. Group communication or social interaction with different people throughout the globe is possible with the help of the aforementioned social networks. These social networks as a form of social interaction process are viewed to be quite less expensive and increase the communication among people. It has been viewed that the aforesaid social networks have become an integral part in human life. The advanced computerization technology with significant information systems has been developing in order to strengthen the fundamental structure of social as well as institutional organizations (MacKenzie and Wajcman 12-15). Now a day’s, official works without the execution of computers cannot be imagined. Most of the institutional organizations effectively structure their educational system with the utilization of advanced technologies such as projector as well as video conferencing. Through internet as a form of advanced technology, better educational guidance can be provided both to the students as well as the teachers with the help of video conferencing by a considerable level. Moreover, any sort of information can easily be accessible through various search engines such as Google, Yahoo and many others. These modern technologies ultimately makes the people more self sufficient in conducting their necessary activities. Apart from the social networks, cell phones or mobile phones is regarded to be the other significant technology that plays an imperative part in human life. People can connect themselves with their relatives, colleagues as well as friends at any point of time through the technology of mobile or cell phones. The appropriate use of technology may result in increased profitability as well as business expansion of the organizations at large. Technology facilitates the business entities to use improved standards of technological means through which they can create a remarkable impact upon the global market. In addition, the automation process in the business world relating to technological context makes the corporate houses to work more efficiently than ever before (MacKenzie and Wajcman 12-15). The socio- economic conditions have been developing through the help of technological operations over a period of time. One of the most favorable impacts of technology is about improved medical facilities to human beings. In the past, people had to die due to lack of medical technologies. Now advanced medical techniques with the aid of innovative technological intervention are available for saving human lives. Thus, technology is getting more importance in the global context and is playing a major part in making social life better (Pariser 6). Critical Analysis On the basis of the above discussion, it can be affirmed that the different technological inventions impose positive impact upon the performance of the humans as well as the organizations by a significant level. However, it also imposes certain crucial negative impact upon the society. In this similar context, advanced technologies have raised the scope of conducting considerable antisocial activities that ultimately affects the security level of human life at large. Moreover, it has been observed that confidential information regarding the government policies and other important aspects are at stake with the introduction of different technological interventions. Moreover, in relation to organizational context, it has been identified that there exist several companies that intends to deliver false information to the customers by creating fake company sites in order to enhance their profitability. Furthermore, the other unfavorable impacts of technology relating to social context include lack of privacy and increased performance of antisocial activities among others. From the above discussion, it can be stated that though technology impose positive impact upon developing the society but still it impose certain negative impact upon the community that needs to be minimized as early as possible (MacKenzie and Wajcman 12-15). Conclusion Technology is the way of achieving human’s or organizations’ objectives by adopting certain important technological measures. Advanced technologies have been providing remarkable efforts to make positive social changes in the human life for a long time. Technological changes can lead towards substantial progress in an economy. Over the years, implementation of advanced technology in human life changed their thinking about the different social aspects. However, advanced technologies also impose certain negative impact upon the society through practicing cyber crimes and antisocial activities among others that can be minimized by raising security related aspects.
