Davis drives into opportunities offered based on nature to learn from the infinite cultural varieties; which include the human ways of understanding, being and living. The taxonomy of cultural diversity is essential for the world’s exceptionally beneficial in building cataloging and testing specimens.

(Davis, 2003) Mark Pagel depicts language as one of the probable characters that distinctively separate human beings from apes; who may be termed as man’s closest relatives. All other identified differences have the language origin. He clarifies language as a medium for implanting thoughts from the mind directly into another person’s mind. The same can be reversed without any surgery performance. Human language has discrete sound pulses used to alter the psychological settings on someone else’s brain to accommodate an individual’s interest.

Language is not a single-handed pursuit but a form of social learning. Society learns through vision and communication. (Pagel, 2011) Davis gives appositive perception by exploring geographical emphasis towards the importance of language and cultural diversity in the entire world. He states that universal language is not necessary what the world needs rather a respect of worldwide ties and unique values found in the linguistic system. He reveals the way language is being lost in a speed that is alarming to face extinction.

In the rapid distinction of language; about one language dies every week. Therefore, it is essential to realize that language is nothing but a flash of the human spirit. Pagel, on the other hand; depicts language as a medium to forming one world destiny by adopting one language. He outlines language evolution’s social functions. He also provides the language importance in globalizing the world as fostering cooperation. Finally, he gives importance of valuing whatever one speaks of than just mere talks.

It is true and essential to value the diverseness of languages in line with the cultural values that they uphold. These values are the origin of ethical values that distinguish human and other animals. The diverse cultures and languages create a society that is worthy living because of diverse interests that are appealing. However, if language is understood as a flash of the human spirit then its values and importance become insignificant. Pagel’s ideology is a literal misconception of the values that are attached to language diversity.

The storehouses of knowledge that are historically developed are found in the cultural and linguistic diversity. This means that both language and cultural diversity and tailored to understand biodiversity. If Pagel’s idea was right and practical then one could ask; how would this idea resolve racism with the understanding that racism is based on color and not language? How could the society uphold ethical values that have roots from the cultural practices? If Davis’ idea was totally right then how comes beneficial cultural practices in the current world is associated with diverse historical practices?

Why is it that history and languages that were destroyed are currently being traced? The unity as a world is respected and valuable if the diversity in culture and language are withheld to the latter.
