Examining Aspects of Training and Development - Essay Example

• Abstract

The following essay examined several aspects of training and development. It found that training is critical in determining the success that a company has and especially in ensuring that the strengths of the employee are aligned to the objectives of the organisation. It examined soft and hard human resource management and found that companies that practice hard human resource management place more focus on the resources that a company has largely ignoring the employee whereas soft human resource management is the opposite encouraging employees to be an active part of the organisation. The essay also found that training and development can be key in encouraging motivation of the employees in terms of ensuring that employees have a clear understanding of their strengths and weaknesses and use these aspects to be more efficient. However, training and development is not productive when it does not have a clear goal, is lacking in needs assessment and do not have any type of measurement.
