The paper "Development of Human Resource Information Systems in the Middle East" is an excellent example of a dissertation on human resources. This report is a presentation of the outcomes of an investigation that ventured to study the effectiveness of using HRIS in the oil and gas companies of the Middle East. The study was done using a qualitative design by interviewing on their perception of technology. The study produced four findings. The first one is that the main hindrance to the adoption of the HRIS approach to HR management in the Middle East is the cultural dimension. The second is there are three major issues of management in the oil and gas sector of the Middle East countries. The first of the issues is that the managers have to deal constantly with the problems of an aging workforce, which means that their effectiveness is only limited to experience, but not innovation and creativity that is common for young staff. The second is that of the push by the governments to embrace nationalization. The last one is that managers have a challenge dealing with the management of a larger pool of workers because of the growing nature of their businesses. The third piece of finding is that the use of HRIS is not considered the most appropriate in the Middle East oil and gas companies. The last one is that as much as the approach of using the HRIS is not the most appropriate for the Middle East, there are considerations by managers that it could produce significant levels of use if it were designed to suit the cultural dimensions of the region.

The concepts of HRIS in different related sub-topics are introduced in this section. More specifically, there is an outline of the background to the research. There are also additional sections that identify the problem that requires to be studied, the aims of the research, the importance, and the questions that were utilized in the process of researching the study topic.

The department of human resources forms one of the most critical areas for many large companies. The problems that face workers have for a long time been among areas of fundamental concern for managers across different areas of responsibility.
