From experience, most interviewers will ask you what you have written to establish your competence. Missing any detail of your resume is thus a genesis of failing the interview, constant revision of the resume is thus imperative.

The most essential factor to consider while preparing oneself for an interview is to understand the nature of the interview fully, that is if it is a telephone or a face-to-face interview. This will help you prepare for the interview and also inquire about the venue of the interview if it is a face-to-face interview. The second consideration is to comprehend the company and the requirements of the position. One can acquire the company’s details online and thoroughly read about the company to show the interviewer your interest in the company. It is also important to consider possible questions on the position and carry out a thorough revision to be able to answer such questions if asked. Presentation in a face-to-face interview is also essential, wearing a suit or official clothes is thus of essence. In a telephone or even face-to-face interview, it is important to consider both listening and talking skills as the interviewer will be able to acquire much information from the way you conduct yourself while the interview progresses (McKay, 25).

One way of overcoming weaknesses in interviews is by providing a lead to the conversation. As an example, if you do not know certain marketing strategies in a marketing interview, it is good to focus your answers on marketing strategies that you are well acquainted. This is because most interviewers will ask more questions from your answers. Another way of overcoming weaknesses in an interview is by showing confidence and determination. These are the signs that the interviewers consider while conducting interviews and thus overshadowing your weaknesses. Read More
