Training Needs Assessment Introduction Forest Park Corporation takes pride in itself for it is renown at recruiting the best personnel; this being evident over the past few years. Their engagement in tuition aid program has seen their employees go back to school, attain degrees and masters degrees. Recently, a member of the Bookkeeping Department-Cathie Stango quit the company. It seemed she wanted to pursue bigger dreams of being an accountant. What troubled the company most was her choice to quit her job at the peak moment. This paper will diagnose the scenario. It will come up with likely causes of the gap, design an appropriate scale survey for the findings and point out some recommendations. Question 1: Diagnosis of the problem Working comes with its own rewards for any employee. This could be something tangible or praises. An employee works at his/her level best with the expectation of a reward in the future. For any employee working at a certain field with over qualifications, he/she expects to be promoted to a higher field of duty. Some managers fail to recognize this. This makes the employee feel as if he/she works in vain (Vent, 2009). The achievement of individuals in Forest Park Corporation should be of importance to the company. They should be promoted to higher levels to make them feel appreciated, and increase productivity. They should also be aware that knowledgeable individuals who have belief in themselves might choose to quit and look for better jobs. Question 2: Causes of the performance gap A performance gap within an organization stands for the disparity linking the current performance and the future performance (Vent, 2009). Companies experience functional hitches during their period of growth. Below are some of the reasons causing these tactical hitches in a company in relation to Forest Park Corporation? A significant cause is the splitting up of responsibilities among individuals. This ends up to irresponsibility with nobody ever taking full accountability for anything. Individuals have the behavior of tending to get more involved in survival tactics and put aside their work needs. They come up with a replica of themselves that appears to work in the company (Vent, 2009). Cathie for instance puts herself in a position where the management of Forest Park Corporation thought that she was performing well. She later realized that she had other desires. Finally, Forest Park Corporation complains about its training system. It produces individuals that they had to preserve. Its assumption in employee training became the first to get cut in decline of business. The company no longer devotes to training its employees than the system it criticizes. Question 3: Effective training assessment Training Needs Assessment helps in identifying priorities, coming up with decisions, and assigning resources in an objective way to reach the aims of the organization. The most appropriate form of Training Needs Assessment for Forest Park Corporation falls under the third level of Training Needs Assessment and Individual Assessment. Here, it analyzes employees on how well they perform their work. It determines an employee’s capability to do different works (Vent, 2009). Cathie chose to quit Forest Park Corporation because she felt that her ability was being wasted. She chose to look for greener pastures. Through engaging in individual assessment, Forest Park Corporation will be able to look into their employees at a much deeper level. This will assist the company to avoid later issues of employees choosing to quit their work. Question 4: Survey conduct Position: The management of Forest Park Corporations has come to notice the recent pull out of some of its key employees from the company.
