The major products of Tesco are food and drink, the items one finds in a typical grocery. But with time, additions have been made. For instance, the products list now also includes clothing, software, consumer electronic items, Internet browsing services, financial services, and products, telecom products, home items like decorations and kitchenware, car insurance plans, health insurance products, dental services, and plans. The company also sells as well as rents the DVD’s and CD’s, which are gaining quite a lot of popularity among consumers.

This essay would focus on the human resources found at TESCO, primarily paying attention to the training and development needs of the employees, how they are benefiting the company and employees, and lastly, some comparisons between another similar company and Tesco.

The introduction of Tesco told us that it has diversified with time, and it plans to continue with this strategy. Thus, the right workforce is needed so that this expansion can be supported in the right manner. Every company has to do proactive planning for their workforce, especially organizations like Tesco, which plan to expand with time. They would want employees who are master of all, they should recognize the fact that those employees who would work in the store and those whose work is non-store based would also differ in the type of skills that they would require.

Tesco has an equality policy of hiring people, thus the human resource is from diversified backgrounds. Every employee is given an equal opportunity to grow through training and development.
