The project goal is to present both my interests and I, by creating a professional online identity in preparation for my future after graduation. The goals for this project are to bring up all my experiences, abilities and lessons learnt in IT in the past 2 years as I am business information technology third year student, in order to achieve project success. It will also serve as an eye opener to present my accomplishments in the future. “I Project” is defined as a knowledge about how technology goes beyond the mind. I will focus on Tesco QR code subway store. The project aim is to give a brief idea about how technology may help the businesses, which support me to choose this subject in my bachelor. “I Project” will explain how technology makes life easier and shortens the way, by showing how Tesco use the QR code to increase their sales taken from the website (www.ahmedalasim.com ) Identification of your career goals in the short and medium term. I will work hard and use all my experiences in order to build a good reputation to achieve the main goal in the medium term which will be explained in the next chapter. In my study at Salford university of Business Information Technology, I have understood that by mixing the information technology with the business is a very powerful combination. Information technology supports businesses and could mean the success of enterprises if applied effectively. That is why I have chosen to present a new technology in my website and the topic of my dissertation which is about E-learning. New technology such as the apps and shopping online has become my interest which has triggered me to think about designing a new app and market it after finishing my bachelor. Also by looking and understanding what does website ranking mean and how important is it in the internet world. Which lead me to find the best keywords and search engine optimisation for my website. Where it is my goal at this stage to focus on making the website famous and public and how I can make my website appear on the first page of the search engine list. Also some modules of my study where supporting my project rather than the assignment module such as previous modules from second year I have did much enough with design and understand the value of it and project management taken a place in order to know the project success and failure and so on with other modules which a part from my experiences. In this case , I searched the internet about the design that could attract most of people levels for example qualified people will be attract at the academic writing where teenager will be attract at videos . So I need to get some feedback from students and friends who are good enough with IT and web design in order to cover all the people groups. Up to know the design of my website is quiet simple I am looking for the best design and thinking of putting a video in the home page where taking into account that the look of the website should be classic in order to be comfortable for the users eyes . Also I need to update and try to make the website more existing and thinking about improve the comments and discussing the topic to get an idea about people thinking. The goal of I project is to present new technologies by explain how the technology beyond the mind and giving trust to user that every new technology will be present on my website. And the following experience will taken a place in order to achieve my specific goal. 1- The previous study of IT 2- Visitors comments of the website 3- Link with most social network to easier get good reputation. 4- Find the best way to attract visitors and keep them visiting the website more than once a day by updating the website. 5- Different languages will take a place in my project. Also I have come up with I project idea because there many technology in my country is not in UK where are many technology in UK are not in my country. Description of the tools to be utilised including specific sites, APIs or other tools For this project I have used Wix platform to develop my website because it offers all the tools I need in order to achieve my goals. It is a powerful tool which enables me to customize my website in very fine details and to add content to it very easily. It is also noted that this platform has very good Search Engine Optimization implemented in it, so it will be easier for me to get to Rank 1 on Google, Bing and different search engines existing in the Internet. Also I have used the YouTube API to embed iframes with video, which enables me to share videos anytime and with great ease. Also I have used the Google Analytics API in order to monitor the visitors coming to my website and where I can improve SEO. Clearly outline steps that have been taken in the project 1. Come up with project idea 2. Write down on paper the main ideas I should focus on my website 3. Buy the domain name and create a vanilla Wix installation in order to test adding, deleting and updating content. 4. Refine the content for the website by adding external links and reference links where needed 5. Since the Search Engine Optimization is crucial for the success of this project I will take my time to rewrite the website content to be Search Engine Friendly, and also come up with suitable tags, Meta tags, description and images for the website content. 6. Install Google Analytics to monitor the traffic to the website and to have Search Engine Analytics with a high degree of granularity. By using this tool I was available to do crucial modifications in order to make it much more attractive and user friendly to the incoming visitors. 7. Integrate Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus in order to create even more awareness among the visitors and in order to direct much more traffic to my website by using Social Marketing 8. I decided to choose this project in an attempt to make emerging technologies as the Tesco QR Code much more popular and to describe their advantages and how they could make our life easier. Another reason is the fact that by describing the technology both in English and Arabic the content would be available in both English speaking countries and both the Middle East countries which use Arabic. This would make my content understandable to a very large number of people. Another important decision I had to make is the platform I will use as the Content Management System for the website. I compared and contrasted two platforms: Wix and WordPress. By looking at them I have decided to go with Wix because it offers very easy to use interface to manage the content, as well as the ability to edit the Search Engine Optimization information for each page. WordPress offered the same features but at the cost of being a little bit complicated for me to utilise it efficiently. I do not believe my project is a creative solution for this task, but by doing it I concentrated much more about accuracy and quality of the content. Even though I did not find out a creative way of spreading the information, but I had a very good chance of improving my Search Engine Optimization skills, which have proven crucial during the development of this project. To what degree is this original or distinctive? It is not an original idea but, it would make businesses generate more income by clients using the QR Code and also it would make the company much more visible and appreciated by customers. This would help emerging businesses to distribute information by using the QR Codes. How will this project be realistically sustained beyond the project deadline? It would be relatively easy for me to continue supporting this project after the deadline because I am very interested in new technologies and it would only make me happier to discover new technologies, or aspects of this technology and share it with other people through my website. After graduation I will have a lot of free time to consolidate my knowledge in the Web Development area and I will also be able to share my findings and my thoughts on my website. As a regular user of the QR Codes I will also be able to provide custom examples from my life when this technology helps me do things faster. As future development for the website I will be looking for collaborators interested in the same technologies to help me maintain the website and take it to another level by increasing the amount of new information that is posted. How realistic is this for a final year Honours degree student? I consider this to be a very good project for a final year student as it allows the student to think creatively and to explore many different options in order to achieve his or her goals. This project is also a very good opportunity to acquire new information from different areas of expertise and experiment with newer technologies.
