Affirmative action Introduction An affirmative action is a firm stand that an individual has over a certain issue. In most cases, a formative action is always stipulated in the constitution that governs people in an organization. Moreover, an affirmative action can be an individual’s stand on an issue. However, various studies show that many people across the world have a different opinion when it comes to their attitude towards affirmative action. The research indicates three categories of individuals, for instance, those who support those who oppose as well as those who have no idea of what affirmative action is or where to base their opinion. The research is going to view the impacts of affirmative action in various places across the world. Moreover, the study will explain various benefits that will come along with adopting affirmative action in an organization (Marzilli, 2004). Besides, the study will define various myths about affirmative action and determine whether affirmative goes hand in hand with these myths. Moreover, the study will carry out an analysis on the benefits of affirmative action to the people with disabilities as well as the position of women in the society. Finally, the study will analyze various contributions from the respondents with the functions of affirmative action (Johnson & Green, 2009). In addition, it will explain the efforts made by affirmative action trying to eliminate racial discrimination in most organizations. Furthermore, the study is going to mention various sections that affirmative action that it championed to ensure that there is total equality among all in resource allocation, recognition as well as opportunities for employment. However, affirmative action has various myths that try to explain the proper meaning as well as the perception that different individuals hold with affirmative action. However, I am of the opinion that positive action work. I am supporting the idea that affirmative action works because of various advantages that it brings to the society. For instance, affirmative action gives a voice to the voiceless in the community and tries to defend those who do not have the ability to protect themselves (Connors, 2009). For instance, the various organizations, as well as government institutions, has put in place affirmative action’s to ensure to ensure that there are fairness and equality in different functions and services. For instance, the government of any country needs to ensure there is affirmative action to avoid racial discrimination as well as gender discrimination. Therefore, this research will have to feature the impacts to the community basing on the various effects. Moreover, I support affirmative action for it have proven most of the myths ton be wrong. That is, it is practically defending the powerless in the society and fight against corruption as well as injustices in the society (Maltz, 2005). For instance, there is a myth that states that affirmative action has not managed to reduce gender discrimination that occurs at the workplace as well as color discrimination. Truly, affirmative action has led to reducing racial discrimination in various work places. Moreover, the racial discrimination has created numerous job opportunities for women as well as to the people with disabilities. That is, most organizations have laid down rules and regulations that defend persons with disabilities as well as women. Affirmative action has managed to educate women as well as persons with disabilities about their right as well as the position that they hold in the society. For instance, the research shows that with the implementation of affirmative action, there has been greater empowerment of women as well people with disabilities to participate economic development in various sectors of development. Therefore, affirmative action has made women be people of substance in the society. However, there are various responses from the respondents to affirmative action. For instance, the question was to find out the effectiveness of affirmative action programs about minority and women for job employment in the workplace. In this research, the respondents who were in favor of the favor of affirmative action were 58 and those who were opposing the impact of affirmative action were 36. However, there were those individuals who did not know their position whether to favor or to oppose affirmative action programs. From the findings from this research conducted on 8/01, I can also conclude that the affirmative action is a necessity in reducing injustices as well as discrimination in the society (Grapes, 2000). In support of this, the feminist majority foundation is dedicated to the provision of equality for women in the workplace, ensuring that there are productive health and non-violence to women in the workplace. Moreover, the organization has established the affirmative action to empower women politically, socially as well as economically. Because of this fight from the feminist majority foundation, many women are now in political position in various parts of the world. Besides, the action has also enabled women to be stable both socially and economically. From the efforts from the feminist majority foundation, I can also conclude that affirmative action can effectively work to better the lives of women and people of disability in most parts of the world. Moreover, I am in a support for the opinion that affirmative action because it is against the myth that affirmative action does increase representation. Affirmative action has increased representation in various sections across the world. For instance, affirmative action has led to rising in the number of women representatives in parliament in most countries across the world. It is because of the rules and regulations that have been laid down to fight for the right of women. For instance, the findings from the research carried out by U.S labor department shows that five million minority members, as well as six million white and minority women, have moved up to the workforce (Grapes, 2000). In addition, affirmative action has enabled many black and female officials to join the board of managers. However, because of increase in representation in various sections of the workforce, it has also led to the rise in the development of affirmative action in different companies like Sears Roebuck and IBM. Moreover, the global foundation is championing for an increase in equal representation in working place. Besides, it emphasizes on capability building among women as well as to people with disability. With the development of affirmative action, the global right has managed to enable organizations working in partnership with local activists. That is; in Asia, Latin America as well as America to promote and protect the rights of marginalized in the community. The findings from the study make me conclude that affirmative action is contributing to the increase in representation (Grapes, 2000). Apart from increasing the representation of both women and people of disability, affirmative action is giving them the power and authority to air out their grievances without fear. Women and persons with disabilities have the voice and power because of the power granted unto them by the affirmative action. Affirmative action protected them from any victimization from parson who is not in support of their presence. Moreover, the research also indicates that the majority of research respondents favor the statement that affirmative action. That is, it has significantly contributed to an increase in representation of women and people with disability in a political position, increase participation in economic development as well as involvement in social functions. The institute for community inclusion has conducted research and concluded that affirmative action is playing a significant role in the increase of equal representation in all sectors of development. For instance, the Institute has an affirmative action that supports the right of children with disabilities to engage in various functions that contribute to community development. Affirmative action does not agree with the myth that one can fight discrimination with discrimination. Instead, affirmative action tries to instill an effort to combat prejudice and in an attempt to overcome prejudicial treatment through inclusion. However, the best means of avoid exclusion acts in the society is to make adequate efforts to ensure that there is the total integration. With 100%, the inclusion of women, as well as people with disability, is a logical objective of the affirmative action (Maltz, 2005). Therefore, I agree that affirmative action functions well in creating a harmonious working relationship between individuals in various organizations as well as communities. In support of this, the international labor organization is fighting for affirmative action in different sections in the energy industry. The Institute seeks to increase the promotion of social justice and recognition of work as well as human rights. Moreover, affirmative action is working to better the relations of employees in various organizations as well as relations of members of particular communities. For instance, the international work group for indigenous affairs has developed an affirmative action that gives individuals freedom of self-determination. Besides, an action is giving all persons including women and people with disability right to territory (Maltz, 2005). With the emergence of various institutions fighting for the existence of affirmative action, in the workplace, it has significantly empowering affirmative action in different organizations. For instance, leadership conference on civil and human rights is championing for leadership positions for women and people with disabilities. From the research conducted by the Institute, it indicates that more than 70% of the total respondents are in the favor of affirmative action. However, with this support as well as the implementation of the affirmative action, there has been an increasing in the rate of women and people with disabilities in leadership positions. With the rise of this person in leadership positions, the research shows that there has been a significant increase in production as well as efficiency and effectiveness of operations in an organization. The Mexican American Legal Defense is fostering laws and public policies as well as programs that safeguard the operations of the minority in the society. The institute has managed to empower the people with disability to understand that they also have the ability as well as equal rights to any other parson in their community (Maltz, 2005). However, the research conducted by the Institute indicates that the majority of the respondents are in favor of the affirmative action. Among the reasons that they gave is that; the work gives room to the minority to participate in economic development a particular nation. In addition, the action reduces incidences of corruption as well as discrimination against gender as well as racial discrimination. Moreover, affirmative action is working in the sense that; it is opening room for brilliant women as well as people with disabilities to boost their educational career. It is through the laid down policies of ensuring that the girl child, as well as a parson with a disability, have an equal right to education. The search indicates that with the development of affirmative action, many people more so women are increasing in number in school enrollments. With education to all people in the region, as well equal distribution of government resource there will drastically reduce in incidences of crime for most will be satisfied with equality in the region. From the affirmative action, the minority have received greater motivation that enables them to conduct the task before him or her (Kranz, 2002). In a comparison of organizational operations currently in before the implementation of affirmative action, there is a tremendous change in various sections. For instance, because of affirmative action, we are having women running IT departments as well as operating in different leadership positions. Furthermore, people with disabilities have identified their position in the society, and they fully participate in both social and political functions. Besides, affirmative action has led to a reduction in marginalization cases across the world. It is because; it has created a distinct position that belongs to women as well as to the people with disabilities. Despite the fact that affirmative action is something, that is bringing equality and fairness in the society. It is still encountering many challenges from individuals who want to dominate in all operations in organizations (Long, 1996). However, affirmative action has significant support from individuals as well as a human rights activist. They find it that it is necessary to have both women as well as people with disabilities to take part in decision-making on issues affecting their lives either directly or indirectly. Moreover, various returns from different researchers indicate that affirmative action is changing the world a better place. In conclusion I agree with the findings of research that many people are in favor of affirmative action. In my opinion, I find that affirmative action works because it has enabled minority have their position in the society. Moreover, Affirmative action has allowed both women as well as people with disability to participate fully in the decision-making process. That is, they are given an opportunity to any public function to be fully involved. In addition, the affirmative has proven to be working because of increase in the number of representation of women and people with disability in the workplace (Sadler, 1996). Furthermore, implementation of affirmative action has led to a total reduction of racial discrimination in the workplace. Instead, it has contributed in empowering minority in the society through making them understand their legal right in the society. Among the rights that an affirmative action brought in light include, equal girl child education as well as freedom of association. Finally, it gave affirmative action has enabled the minority to participate political functions, economic development activities as well as participation in the social function.
