The staff will also undergo mandatory training to equip them with skill in this dynamic sport. This is also to minimize on the number of deaths and injuries for drivers of the ATV. Core programs The first safety program focuses on customer education. This program is known as “Customer literacy program”. Every customer who joins the Georgetown ATV company must go through this program to familiarize themselves with racing and the company’s policy. The riders will be oriented to the track and will be accompanied during their first attempt. In subsequent attempts they will be monitored through cameras fixed on the bikes.Assesment tests and signing of contracts is necessary as it is company policy. The second safety program is based on customer safety in the racing track. This program is known as “Individual safety program”. Before the customers go to race it is mandatory that they have with them a helmet, arm pads, knee pads, et cetera to minimize injuries. Hazard recognition Pursuant to the Occupational safety and Health act, it is mandatory that employers comply with specific and health standards and regulations passed by OSHA.Our company borrows its core values and standards from all terrain mandatory regulation which dictates that all ATVS must be four wheeled and comply with safety standards. The company also has an ATV action plan which is approved the commission which sets safety standards on the issues of training. No three wheels are allowed on the race track because they are dangerous and could cause harm to customers. The gear must also be of quality and must meet the said standards. Employee participation Customers are encouraged to make comments about their training and performance during and after the course. The company is open to new ideas and complaints if any from the customers in which the trainers share in their debriefing sessions to deliberate on the way forward. Safety complaints are taken very seriously. A safety officer is contracted to look into such matters to advice the company on what to do to minimize the probabilities of accidents. Any issue arising is reported to the general manager who oversees the safety issues of the company. Recommendations are made and should the company be at fault it should compensate the aggrieved customer as is the company policy. The results are to be shared with the customers who are the target audience for the training and racing. System Safety analysis Due to safety issues, the company has launched new all-terrain bikes, newly manufactured and falls in the age bracket of our target audience. The reason for this change is that over the years quad bikes have caused a significant number of deaths due to faulty machines and therefore cause for alarm. The company also intends to revamp its information technology systems which are linked to the quad bikes .The cameras installed in the bikes should all be working to ensure that all customers are monitored as they ride. It is mandatory for these bikes to incorporate only one rider to ensure maximum safety. Early intervention-ergonomics This sport is quite involving and requires that riders be at their best in terms of health. Therefore for the rider to be enlisted in this company it is mandatory that they attend a physical examination usually conducted by the company doctor. There will be physicians on standby in case of any injury on the off road track. The company’s policy also dictates that every participant is examined once every month and before tournaments. In case of illnesses or any injuries the customers are prohibited from riding until they are given a clean bill of health from the company doctor. The leadership accountability The company boasts of professionals in the sport. Majority of the trainers and management understand this skill and often go through certification programs that enable them to carry out their work efficiently. With a state of the art appraisal system, the management is well equipped to carry out these trainings. In case of any foul play by management or trainers the company’s policy is that the individual steps down and allows time for an independent party to investigate the wrong and is advised accordingly. Complaints are also launched via suggestion boxes and this is looked into. Customer Feedback Policy After the customers have finished their time with us, we debrief them all together and this is an open question time where they can ask us any customers. Once this has finished, we give the customers a feedback sheet where they can offer a range of opinions, such as what they enjoyed, how we could improve their experience, but most importantly what could we do to further ensure their safety. There is also a box where customers can lay complaints if they feel their experience was not totally safe. Any safety complaints take very seriously and we have a safety officer whose sole task is to look into these types of incidents. The safety officer is not officially attached to our company, so there can be no conflicts of interests. It is the safety officers job to conduct an investigation into each safety complaint and then report to the general manager. If it is recommended from the safety officer that the company should pay compensation for any injuries sustained by customers, then of course the company will follow through with that. Auditing The company’s policy is that the profits along with money from investors be used in improving the standards of gear, tracks and maintaining the parks that are used by the riders. The resources are divided such that all management and trainers receives salaries befitting their work. An audit financial report should be shared out with the management and board of investors. An appraisal for the activities is also necessary done before a season ends. At the end of every year, the board will seat down to deliberate on how resources have been used .Thereafter the findings will be gazette for the public to see on the performance of the organization. The audits are available to our esteemed customers. Reference "Occupational Safety and Health Administration - Home." Occupational Safety and Health Administration - Home. N.p., n.d.
