History of revolution Introduction Independence assertion was a motive initiated by the white males mainly to secure their personal interest. They wanted to gain independence so that they can use their authoritative powers to rule over the minority races. Even though philosophers articulate that the government is for the people, a sub-political group of whites worked contrary to this (Zinn, 2015). Difference in relation to wealth and property arguably plays a major divisive function. For instance, Locke had an interest of ensuring there is political equity among citizen not considering wealth status of the citizens.

Him being wealthy, he never fought to slim the niche between the wealthy and the less fortune. He therefore fought an opinionated war to safeguard his interest in slave trade and other ventures. It is evident that they enacted policies that favored their interest not considering the majority group. I, therefore deem that core purpose of assertion for independence was in favor of white male’s political interest. The majority group expected assertion of independence to be a platform of articulating their grievances and end of their suffering.

For instance, the black man society spearheaded assertion of independence with their main objective being abolition of slave trade. There had been lack of equality and gender parity about the type of race an individual have (Zinn, 2015). Even so, Locke endorsed pacts that took side with the citizens on trying to fight tyrannical kings who were using their political authority to benefit themselves. The quest for life, liberty and happiness made them work hard in the end of the kingship system.

They knew political regime is for the people’s interest and failure to work for the people it will definitely be overthrown. Reference Zinn H. (2015). A people’s History of the united states 1492: New York. Routledge.
