The other major difference between the USA and the United Kingdom is the goal for a war they were engaging in. While the goal for the USA's engagement in the war was offensive, the United Kingdom's goals were more defensive, taking time before attacking until it was apparent that the enemy would attack (Paret, (1986). However, the comparison between the USA, the United Kingdom, and the British Commonwealth is the fractured landscapes military strategy application, which then made the guerrilla warfare tactics a major war strategy for the three war entities, since with a fractured geographical landscape, surprise attacks, as opposed to direct military combat on the battlefront is most applicable (Paret, 1986). Nevertheless, the significant difference between Great Britain and the Commonwealth countries is the military financing strategy, where Great Britain financed its military through internal economic capabilities, while the Commonwealth countries struggled in financing the military during wars.
