...Question: Why is measurement of poverty a debated issue in Canada? Which side of the Debate would you support? Why? The debate surrounding the measurement of poverty in Canada stems from the simple fact that Canada does not have any official or formal definition for poverty. There is no official methodology and as a consequence, poverty lines are yet to be formalised. Therefore, though it is admitted that in spite of Canada belonging to the elite group of wealthiest economies poverty is prevalent, the true extent of this is yet to be officially identified (Ligaya, 2007). This lack of official identity has stemmed from a polarization of opinions regarding measuring poverty in Canada. The basic distinction in views lies... Why is measurement...

...Fairness should always be part of any school system. In this spirit, our school’s administration chose a few years ago to change the inter-period time between classes from four minutes to three, so that each academic period would be of equal length. The problem, is, however, that this length of time between classes does not allow students enough time to move through the hallways in a safe and stress-free manner. The current situation is frankly dangerous. Giving students such a short amount of time creates havoc in the hallways, with students constantly running if they have space to, bumping into each other, and sometimes even pushing and shoving if the situation gets too dire. This unfortunate situation can be exacerbated... should...

...Responses on two articles Family and parenthood in an ageing ‘youth’ culture: A collective embrace of dominant adulthood Paul Hodkinson wrote the above article. The paper explores the importance of family life to former youths who participated in youthful life. The paper explains that youthful life is not permanent, and family life comes immediately after a youthful life (Hodkinson, 2013). The article is very educative for young people. I like the contents of the article since it prepares young people for future life. People who are no longer young should not deny their current stage. It is important for people to appreciate that once they are past 40 years; they are adults and no longer need to behave like young people. People... on two...
