David Irving is another example, who has been made a persona non grata by many states, for exercising his right to free speech.
While I think that it is sad for the victims of the Holocaust to have people deny what happened to them, and that the countries that were responsible do have a part to play in “making it up” to the victims of the Holocaust, however, it is very strange that the free speech of others is restricted to the point of making it a criminal offense. ... Section/# Critique and Analysis When reviewing the 1911 short film “The Londale Operator”, from the standpoint of early cinematography, a number of key issues come to the forefront. Whereas the actual plot of the film could be analyzed at length with regards to the role of women in society, changing mores and norms of gender, and even small aspects of sexual liberation, the purpose of this particular analysis will be to view the film through a purely technical and formulaic approach which will weigh the merits of the particular approaches that are made with regards to both D.W. Griffith and Billy Blitzer’s work that is exhibited within the short melodrama. What comes to the attention of the reviewer almost immediately is the fact...

...Reaction Paper on "David Cole Interviews Dr. Franciszek Piper" The video clips shown in YouTube en d "David Cole Interviews Dr. Franciszek Piper" in six parts aims to validate the existence of the gas chambers supposedly used at the largest labor camp during the Nazi regime, located in Auschwitz, Poland. It was commendable on the part of David Cole to verify the credibility of various reports and information that indicated the more than 4 million Jews who were supposedly put to death through this gas chamber at Auschwitz Main. As I viewed the whole video, I was intrigued, just like David Cole was, by the inconsistencies revealed in various published reports and how visitors and guests of Auschwitz are being led to...

...The Baroque in the Protestant North In the northern Europe, the Protestants remained committed to their private devotionrather than the usual public rituals. The churches would not be allowed to use ornament, which compromised the way of worship. There was anti-intellectual bias among the Catholics and Protestants. This led to the Protestants to value the bible as the principal pillar of their faith. This originated from a religious movement in Germany. The King James Bible translated the early 17th century; it preserved the spiritual fervor of the Old Testament as well as the narrative vigor in the New Testament. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the New Testament in Greek. This bible was concise and...

...February 10, Stories in Grids: Germany’s Holocaust Memorial, Other Memorials, and Emmaly Reed Peter Eisenman’s Germany’s Holocaust Memorial is a maze of meanings. Its 2,711 concrete slabs in a grid pattern can have multiple, conflicting meanings. On the one hand, it may be saying that the Holocaust is one side of many stories. The story of Emmaly Reed, for instance, sounds too incredible, with a nail being put into her head. Germanys Holocaust Memorial may be saying that Reed and the rest of the Holocaust victims are only creating stories to form a grid that does not hold a shred of truth. On the other hand, Germanys Holocaust Memorial may also be seen as a form of...

...Reaction Essay al Affiliation Reaction Essay Compare this memorial with those established more recently for the Roma/Sinti(Gypsies) and the Lesbians/gays. They are also found in Berlin but are on a much more modest scale. You’ll need to check the internet for the information on them. Is it a good idea to have separate memorials for each group or should there have been just one for all affected groups? I strongly believe that memorials for distinct groups of people should be erected uniquely and separately since these are commemorations of the challenges experienced by those who died or suffered death for a defined cause. The Holocaust Memorial is therefore symbolic of the murdered Jews that is why it was aptly named “Memorial... for the...

...Reaction Essay The Holocaust Memorials in Berlin The Memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe, designed by American architect Peter Eisenmann, sits on a nineteen thousand square metre land between Potsdamer Platz and the Brandenburg Gate. It consists of 2711 rectangular stones of different shapes and sizes to commemorate the roughly six million Jews killed during the Holocaust. Just as with the memorials for gypsies and homosexuals, it is located at the heart of Berlin although on a much grander scale than the other two. (Blackwood 2006) The idea to have separate memorials for each of the Holocaust’s victims is justified as it ensures acknowledgment of each of the targeted groups; some of which had...

...Memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe of Affiliation: Reaction Essay The period between 1941 and 1945 Jews were a target of the greatest genocide murder of the 20th Century, which methodically targeted some individuals based on certain reasons and conditions. The dark occurrences by the Nazis contributed towards the development "Memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe," as a visible public acknowledgement of that dark episode experienced in the nation. It is such occurrences of the dark days in Germany that is narrated by Emmaly Reed, citing the mistreatments she underwent. ...Reaction Essay Frank and her sister were transported from Auschwitz to Bergen Belsen because in Auschwitz the living conditions were not good for human survival. In this scenario we learn that in Bergen Belsen there was sufficient water food, good sanitation because we learn that in Bergen Belsen there were pit latrines which were not in Auschwitz. In addition, in Bergen Belsen there was no congestion of people who had survived the wrath of war (Weber). Eli Wiesel was given this choice because the British army did not care for his safety in the face-of advancing Soviet Union troops. The design of gas chambers from my view were isolated places with structures like prisons buildings connected with gas...
