One justification for this would be the varying organizations in which the US have become an integral part and primarily showed its vibrant dominance leadership. In all areas especially in governance, the US in most of the time has substantial role to play. Not only that, history could tell that in the First and Second World War, the US eventually had great contributions. Therefore, based on experience pertaining to global governance, the US has many things to share with the world. In line with this, it is good to maximize this potential by giving the US a chance to become leader across every nation in the world. 2. Now that you've become familiar with some theoretical lenses through which to view the world, which one do you think best describes reality? Explain your answer. Policymakers also use lenses, even if they don't consciously acknowledge using them. Which perspective do you think the Obama team use? It is always good to learn and see many things about the world through historicism, a theoretical perspective in viewing the world from the past. There could be many things to learn in the world by understanding the events of the past. In fact, the great civilization at present connects itself from the past. Improvements or enhancements of the great civilization and everything associated with it is at present were made possible due to understanding substantial things from the past. For example, from the past experience based on human history, people substantially learned that the use of atomic bomb would not be the answer to end war. Knowing the potential of the US to use this destructive warfare and understanding its effects or impacts on the world, remarkably ended the World War II. I believe that the Obama administration is using historicism as theoretical perspective in order to describe reality in the world and especially in policy-making. The administration is looking forward ahead, but substantial basis of its current and future direction comes from the past. For example, its prevailing program about wealth redistribution is remarkably based on the past. Emancipating policies concerning this would therefore give the opportunity for the people to experience significant change in the future. 3. How would you define terrorism? How have terrorists in the past justified their actions? Is terrorism ever justified? Why or why not? What are the most effective ways to combat terrorism? Terrorism can just be defined in general terms and everybody sees it as an act of violence, trying to threaten the basic social rights of every concerned individual, most particularly when it comes to issues concerning the preservation of life. No one has ever the right, except the law itself to kill a life through initiation of violent acts. The September 11, 2001 attack marked a remarkable definition of what terrorism would look like from the point of view of American citizens. However, from the perspective of the perpetrators, there was just a significant ideology they were fighting for prior to their very act. This means terrorism may not be well justified because commonly it is ideally created based on specific ideologies and principles in life. It is therefore hard to define terms like terrorism if ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
