Business Information System: Case Study. Business Information System The management education case study is quite different from teaching methods in undergraduate course levels and schools. Being an active learning method, it requires involvement and participation of the student in lecture- based teaching that changes majorly in their approach to learning. The booklets provided, provides students with basic information on the case study that maximally benefits them through guideline (Sharma,2014).

First, starting with the case studies definition, the requirements of student’s preparation for class and their evaluation in the case study with regard to their course and the benefits a management student expects to gain (BIS 2011, Abramowicz, Maciaszek, Węcel & International Conference on Business Process and Services Computing, 2011).What is case study? It means different things to different people. However, they vary in approach, structure and style. The situation must be dealt well by the student learning in decision making and role manager situation.

Several alternatives can be chosen in courses of action in the described situation being faced by the decision maker. However, there are no answers which are correct and unique in the method of case study. Class large group discussions, small group discussion, and individual preparation are the three stages of case study method comprising of different roles (BIS 2011, Abramowicz, Maciaszek, Węcel & International Conference on Business Process and Services Computing, 2011).Case study in the class room Case studies are normally in large group discussion.

However, a case study written analysis or oral presentation in the class room might be required by the instructor.Preparing for a Case Discussion Before each class, student’s intensive preparation is required in the method unlike teaching based on the lecture. First the case should be read thoroughly and severally to grasp the described situation with the facts being familiarized and important description of the student noted (Sharma, 2014). Thorough understanding must be acquired by the student, main protagonist identification and their relationship keeping in mind the different kinds of presentation in the case study.

Speculation (non verified information), assumptions generated during discussion and case analysis and inferences which represents the judgment of individuals in a situation given. However, they are not equally valuable. Upon reliance on the facts, quality decisions can be seen (BIS 2011, Abramowicz, Maciaszek, Węcel & International Conference on Business Process and Services Computing, 2011). Preparing a Written Case Analysis Internal evaluation part might be a case written analysis and must be properly structured when needed by a student.

A structure of specific guidelines may be provided by the instructor. However, a neat and factual free from grammar and language errors must be submitted (Sharma, 2014).Making a case presentation Either, a group of students or individual may be asked to present by the instructor. Good preparation is the key to good presentation. However, use of visual aids, division of the content, being brief and well prepared is the important points needed during case presentation.Evaluating Student Performance It is based on written case analysis, case presentations, discussions, participation, written assignments and based examinations in the class room.

Benefits from the Case Method Unlike traditional teaching methods, we have several advantages on the case benefit. Students tent to learn, improving their ability to ask the right questions and exposing them to industries, organizations, functions and levels of responsibilities wide range (Sharma, 2014). Also facilitates grasp of management theory, reflecting the managerial decision making reality improving their interpersonal skills and their communication equipping them with management integrated view (BIS 2011, Abramowicz, Maciaszek, Węcel & International Conference on Business Process and Services Computing, 2011)..References Top of FormBIS 2011, Abramowicz, W.
