A person with TB Disease has symptoms that may include: a bad cough that lasts 3 weeks or longer, pain in the chest, coughing up blood or sputum, weakness or fatigue, weight loss, no appetite, chills, fever, and sweating at night.”
If you, or any of your friends, colleagues and acquaintances exhibit any or all of the abovementioned symptoms, there is no need to panic. Just proceed to the Employee Health Services for further evaluation.
As indicated by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, “if not treated properly, TB disease can be fatal. TB disease was once the leading cause of death in the United States. People with TB disease are sick from TB germs that are active, meaning that they are multiplying and destroying tissue in their body. They usually have symptoms of TB disease. People with TB disease of the lungs or throat are capable of spreading germs to others. They are prescribed drugs that can treat TB disease”.
