Nursing is a profession where patients seek a new life. Nurses have different status in their society that generates peoples’ respect and honor. Everybody gets a chance to earn money in their life period, but according to my providing helping hands to the people in their requirement is much greater than the wealth. Nurses always struggle to bring reformation in the patient’s health by caring, motivating and being friendly. Quality of nurses has motivated me to join this field (Watson, 2008).

Stating precisely, the greed of deriving satisfaction by helping others has fundamentally motivated me to opt for the nursing profession. Personal and Professional Growth Profile since Beginning the Nursing Program At the initial stage of the nursing program the training is expected to be quite easy. It does not require any hectic process. But by entering into the field of nursing, one realizes that this profession deals with the patient’s satisfaction, pharmaceuticals and many other factors of much broad scenario.

Hence, it can be stated nursing as a profession requires hardworking to a large extent. It is also a complicated procedure because nurses have to deal with different kinds of people with varying perceptions. However, nursing programs emphasize on resolving the patient’s problems in the practical field that also requires noteworthy practical and theoretical studies. Nurses are required to study scientific books and also provide practical projects. People may think that nursing is an easy task with a few social responsibilities that directly relate to serving humanity.

But, the profession needs dealing with patients from differing cultures and with varying perceptions as well as diseases along with external factors such as operations, medicines, and even ethics. Assessments of Strengths and Weaknesses that Specifically Bring Me to a Nursing Position In relation to the nursing profession, my strengths include handling of the emergency cases staying calm, making decisions with confidence, superior communication skills and managing team towards a particular goal in a focused manner.

On the contrary, I do not feel quite comfortable with situations which are emotionally driven and this can be considered as my weakness. I also think to improve myself in providing advice to the patients for the betterment of their health. Though nursing is a hectic profession but serving others in their requirement is the special reason that attracts me to choose to nurse. Projection of Professional Goals for Next Five Years My Plans to Achieve These Goals In the next five years, the social background of our country is required to be developed.

Reformation is necessary for people’s life. Therefore, it is essential to improve the sense of social responsibilities among the citizens of the country that can, in turn, enhance the overall social conditions. In rural areas, there are people who do not get the facilities of modern medical treatments. They also lack health awareness which is quite essential to develop a society in a healthy manner.
