I agree with the progressive thought of Sangers that a woman should have more control about her body that there should be an expanded use of birth control pills to do that. Her lamentation that “woman’s passivity under the burden of her disastrous task was almost altogether that of disastrous resignation” (213) is the traditional role of women which is almost gone in progressive societies such as America but continue to exist in conservative countries. I find the socioeconomic argument of Myrdal convincing that it causes social divide.

Agree as I am to these arguments, I believe that the grievance of these progressive thinkers are no longer that prevalent today. Dubois birth control assertion is in fact a state policy now to provide reproductive health to protect women from childbirth mortality.Response 2 Society has already recognized the injustices of incorrect perspective about women, motherhood and parenting. Racism as Dubois had fought before is no longer tolerated in the workplace nor does it make a coloured woman unfit for motherhood.

Davis complaint of women’s unfair treatment at work is slowly being eradicated albeit it has to be admitted that it still exist today. Conscious efforts however are already been made to make to end this discrimination at work. For example, US military has removed the ban on women for combat positions. The economic reality also compels both wife and husband to work together to sustain the household. To those couples who have the opportunity to work together, the option of two breadwinners has become the favourable option rather than merely having the wife stay at home.

The social and economic reality makes the assertions of these thinkers either a given or being accepted as fact that it is no longer being argued.
