A. Wife whether working or housewife, bears large responsibilities of nurturing and caring for others, as females are predominantly involved in physical and emotional tasks of looking after others especially children and elderly relatives. In majority of the families they are responsible for cooking for the family, looking after the house, about the cleanliness of the house and caring for the husband and supporting him emotionally if he is carrying some kind of office stress, checking for the things in the home and to plan about the purchase and shopping. To keep her reminded about the dues and payments to be made, to attend to the visitors.
Q. Will the responsibilities change for the husband after marriage? If so, how will they change? If not, why will they remain the same?
Yes, responsibilities do change for the husband too after marriage. They have the responsibility of a wife, to care for her, to understand her emotionally and habitually, to make her feel comfortable in the new family atmosphere, and also to adjust habits as per her choice like keeping things in order and reaching home on time, to take her for outings and for shopping. If the husband has an understanding towards the wife then disputes never occur but if the husbands are adamant and of dominating temperament then the wife is not of docile kind then conflicts arise in the family leading to disturbed family lives for both partners finally leading to separation or divorce.
Q. Is the husband still expected to be the head of the household? If so, explain what roles the husband will be in charge of as the head of the household. If not, explain the distribution of roles within the home.
In the majority of the families husbands are still considered to be the head of the family and every member of the family has to follow his commands, but with changing trends, awareness, and education husbands are also contributing their efforts in helping the spouse and in raring the children, like picking the children from school, bringing household articles from the market, helping wife in the kitchen and other household work, devoting time for the family, helping kids with their lessons and also in changing diapers and doing babysitting if the wife is working and cannot take off from her office, looking after the sick kids and relatives.
Q. Is the wife still the nurturer? If so, in which areas will she nurture the family? If not, define the nurturing roles each spouse will take.
The touch of the mother is all that matters to the child, mothers cannot be replaced by anyone. For a child mother is the whole world and therefore wife is still the nurturer. She feels pleasure in working for kids and her husband, her heart is full of emotions and with her emotional touch, she cares for the family which is very essential for a healthy and happy family.
Q. Describe how your views compare with those of your parents.
My parents are both working; they share their responsibilities very happily and are enthusiastic every time to help each other. I have never found them annoyed with each other and therefore I respect them a lot for the love and affection they have for each other and with the same love and affection they are nurturing their child that is me. They are very cool-headed and never take tension in their lives, they have a broad and positive outlook for life and for all its aspects. They also bear respect for their parents and also for each other’s parents i.e. my grandparents. I fully agree with their views and the way they are nurturing me with strong bonding with my family.
