... Antoinette Marie Antoinette Marie Antoinette was Dauphine of France, as well as the Queen of France and Navarre, from 1770 to 1774 and from 1774 to 1792, respectively (Englund 2004, 65). She was the 15th and penultimate daughter of the Holy Roman Emperor Francis I together with Empress Maria Theresa. She lived from 2nd November, 1755 to 16th October 1793 (Gengembre 2004, 34). Marie Antoinette was surrounded by a lot of controversy, particularly with regards to her Widow Capet, her trial and her death.
