The Air Pollution and the Thick Haze in Beijing 05/12 Introduction Pollution has become a major issue for any country in the course of industrialization. Most of the countries choose petroleum oil as the main source of energy to run their industries. Motor vehicles are also involved in the emission of the harmful gases that leads to air pollution. Sometimes the air pollution causes heavy smoke commonly referred to as the heavy haze. When this situation happens, it becomes difficult for traffic to move as more accidents are witnessed. The heavy haze is a result of poor weather conditions due to the emission of industrial and traffic pollution (McMahon, 2014). The ongoing debate is whether the industrial activities are causing any good to the lives of people living in the country or not. Secondly, is the government doing enough to control the emission of the harmful environmental gases? The government is supposed to give timely information to the public so that they can be prepared for the weather condition of the day to control the effect of the heavy haze. Beijing is one of the cities in china that is mostly affected by the air pollution and heavy haze. There are some concerns that need to be addressed due to this weather conditions. Causes of air pollution and Heavy Haze and their Effects Air pollution and the occasional presence of heavy haze is as a result of is said to be caused by the lack of good strategies to adopt the green energy. Green fuel is crucial in reducing the pollution in the country’s big cities. The country experiences a scarcity of plan to minimise emissions (Rothgeb, 2013). Since industries are essential in establishing a firm economy, the country policy considered investment in terms of industrialization. The care about pollution was not considered as a matter of importance. The policy makers, therefore, failed in providing a strategic plan that would see to it that the pollution does not harm the people in the long run. Industrial pollution in Beijing china has caused many health complications to the citizens. Air pollution that is commonly witnessed especially when as heavy haze fall in the city causes a lot of pollution-related diseases. One of the major diseases connected to the pollution hazard is respiratory related infections. These disorders have caused a lot of deaths in the country, predominantly in the city. Most of the city dwellers, both children and grownups, are suffering from respiratory diseases. The effect of the air contamination is causing alarm as the government is spending a lot of funds in fighting the diseases (Kaiman, 2013). Since the cost of eradicating the disease is very high, the economy of the country is deteriorating as this funds could have been invested elsewhere in a profitable economic sector. China, like any other developing nation, prefer the introduction of industries without strategizing the future dangers of pollution. The act of introducing more petroleum industries have been named as the main cause of pollution in the country, particularly in the city. Most of the investors, from the country and abroad, have invested in heavy industrial products manufacturing in the country (McMahon, 2014). The inadequate strategies to control pollution have messed up the city situation in the country. In cold weather season, heavy haze is witnessed and causes a lot of disruption in traffic and mobility of human beings. The government suffers heavily in this days as little return is accrued from the economic sectors. Investment in the industrial segment in china is effective owing to the diverse nature of the population. First, the population of the country is huge enough to support the consumption of the produced commodities. China is the world’s largest country in consideration of human habitation. The population of nearly 2 billion people offers a good market for the industrial products. Local, as well as the international investors, usually consider the country as a hotspot for their investment location (Rothgeb, 2013). Therefore, since it is the government responsibility to ensure economic progress, the country’s industrial investment increases. Pollution from this industry leads a lot of hazards. Beijing is one of the attractive industrial regions of the country. The presence of experts in the industrial fields is among the attractive feature in the city. The setting up of industries in the city causes a lot of pollution during the production process. Since there are no good measures that can be put to control pollution, the country’s biggest city becomes dumped with air pollution. Therefore, the vagaries of weather mostly affect this city affecting the human habitation in the city. Remedies. There are several remedies that can be used by the government of the Beijing to prevent the harmful weather condition. This would help from distracting the daily activities of the people of china (Smith, 2014). The strategies involve the adoption of the green fuel and the control of firms operating with the influence of organic oil. As set out by the United Nations environment organ, the world environmental program, countries of the world need to research on the preventive measures that can be implemented to stop the use of organic energy. Several energy products from the green sources can be readily available while others can be outsourced from the neighbouring countries. A research need to be conducted to raise the number of megawatts in electricity production. If the current available megawatts cannot satisfy the current demand, the research will help in establishing the other forms of energy that will cater for the remaining amount. Other forms of energy other than electric energy are considered effective in eliminating air pollution globally. The use of coconut oil has been suggested as a ready alternative replacement of the petroleum oil in the machineries that operate on petroleum fuels. The research is being tested and is found to be fruitful and therefore the country can introduce it in their industries. Adopting this new form of fuel will be advantageous as there will be no need of changing the operating system and machineries in the industrial plants. The city also needs to introduce other control measures that will help the industrialists to adopt to the green energy and low gas emitting fuels. The city coordinators need to introduce fines to the industrialists whose firms are emitting heavy smoke into the air. The kind of eradication have been used in several countries and have suggested to be fruitful. Fines, especially when affected heavily to the heavy polluting firms, will make the firms owners to act appropriately in the means of looking at the new alternatives. Since a fine is a liability in the operation, industrialists will look for the means of eliminating the cost. Eventually, they will be able to adapt to a green source of energy that will eliminate the current emission of the harmful gases that causes haze in poor weather condition. The action will help the city overcome the heavy haze that is considered to be harmful to the habitats. Although there is a call to adopt to the new forms of energy that will reduce the hazards of haze in the city, there is a need to take some measures to control its effects. Adapting to the new green fuels will take long, and the haze will continue to be witnessed in the time lapse. The government weather department need to alert the people living in the city on a possible weather vagary. Prior alert is important as it will help the citizens to take great care, so the poor weather condition does not affect them. Apart from alerting the citizens, there is also a need of educating them on the various ways that they can use to protect themselves from the heavy haze. The establishment of this measure will transform Beijing to the best destination town in the sphere. References Kaiman, J. (2013, February 16). The Guardian.
