Differences in perception between junior and senior faculties about the importance of teaching and research in the campus Little collaboration among faculty members The university tried to give heavy workloads to the faculty members and that is why even the senior faculties were reluctant in accepting additional responsibilities. Management of the entire department along with teaching and research are extremely difficult. Teaching and management are entirely different subjects and it is not necessary that a good teacher or researcher may become a good manager.

The university is doing nothing to shape second level faculties, to take charge once the senior faculties retire. The university is trying to appoint new candidates only after the retirement of the senior faculties and thus the juniors are failing to get proper instructions or training from the senior faculties. The strict norms prescribed for taking additional responsibilities, prevent the juniors from taking more responsibilities. Normally, faculties when they approach their retirement, try to reduce their responsibilities rather than taking additional ones.

On the other hand, juniors may take more responsibilities because of their comparatively younger blood and risk taking attitudes. The lack of clarity about the roles of teaching and research in the university campus is another problem which results in conflicts between the senior and junior faculties. Vees should do the following things in order to put the things in order in North Atlantic University. Vese should try to convince the University about the necessities of appointing a department head from the same department rather than hiring the services from another department.

It is difficult for a person from accounting department to work as a department head in Marketing or Personal Management departments. Vese should convince the university about the necessities of appointing junior faculties well before the retirement of the seniors in order to help the juniors in getting the proper advices from the seniors in teaching and research matters. The cooperation between the junior and senior faculties should be improved and the misunderstandings between them should be corrected.

Faculties with exceptional talents in management should give responsibilities based on their talent and for that purpose; seniority should never be a constraint. The barrier of experience for achieving higher places should be avoided and even the juniors should be given the opportunity in the management if they have adequate skills in such areas. Each hour spent in the first week by Vese in the University campus is important. He should be ready to spend some additional hours in the first week in order to establish a strong hold in the department.

He should meet each and every individual working in the department based on their convenience and discuss the departmental matters concerning to them with them. Vese should take note of each matter he identified during the first week from his meetings with the employees and the personal observations he made. Base on these notes or feedbacks, he should try to rectify the problems one by one from the second week onwards. Part II Organizational behavior is the study of individuals and the organizational
