Should the Baltimore rioters be seen as criminals? ities including the president of the United s of America have termed the people involved in the Baltimore as criminals and thugs. Such statements may be valid considering that the damages caused and the events of that day were absolutely criminal. However, some suggests that these were just opportunists who used their chance to challenge the authorities. Some of the residents who were interviewed even went to the extent of suggesting that the City is enjoyable when it is chaotic and that the peaceful way is not interesting.
According to the authorities they have concluded that the rioters are criminal but the people of Baltimore see it differently. Whether they are people who have deified the law and have no respect for security, the riots seem to have an accumulation of bitterness and frustration. Seeing even mothers carrying their young babies and people not afraid of being arrested sends another message. The people are not ashamed of their action though sorry for the damage of property. Instead, they are proud that at least their voices were heard and they are ready to do it again if that’s the way to be listened to.
When all these factors are taken into consideration, I think it could wrong to classify the rioters as criminals. Even though, they engaged in activities that broke the law, it was simply because they had to act for somebody to realize they exist and services and opportunities. These are frustrated and angered people who wanted attention and they are not necessarily criminals (Bruce pg. 17).

Are criminals raised to be criminals

No parent would want to see his child behind bar and serving sentences as judicial penalty for an offense committed. No parent wishes to see his child undergoing rehabilitation program to complete behavioral reformation before he will be mainstreamed back to the society. Family, as a basic agent for child’s growth, development and success, always wanted to see children nurtured with discipline to make them responsible and accountable persons. It’s an outright social deviancy and completely out of norms to see parents teaching their children to become skillful criminals. Forensic experts understood that criminals are forced by circumstance to commit crimes due to influences and circumstances prompting them to assume unacceptable a...

Criminals

...The causes of crime, as in the factors which create the criminal as opposed to the motives for a specific crime, are the of heated debate between biologists and sociologists. Biologists maintain that criminals and crime are a product of biological factors such as inherited psychiatric disorders or brain defects, while a significant percentage of sociologists contend that the social environment is the primary determinant of the development of criminality (Gibbs, 1995). Both these explanations, insofar as they unwaveringly insist that crime and criminality are the outcome of ether biological or environmental/sociological factors, are unsatisfactory. However, both of these explanations are unsatisfactory. According to Horowitz (1984...

However, it may also be surprising to know that many women were also found guilty of conducting brutal acts against the prisoners of Nazi. It cannot be said that all these women had started their lives as ones who were capable of such awful deeds...

Powerful Criminals

It seems that the idea for the respect of the law is ingrained into the members of society simply because without respect for the law society would completely fall apart. Of course, there is also the threat of punishment associated with breaking the law but if someone knows they can get away with it seems unlikely that they would continue to follow the law without incredible self-restraint (Barak, 2005). A society where certain members play loose and fast with the laws of the collective can eventually get to a point where the law is totally meaningless and this idea is certainly applicable to the powerful in society (McCarthy, 2006).

Crime is commonly defined as an act or action which defies social or moral rules of con...
