The order of the topics and sections is in such a way that the previous topic leads to the next. In paragraph 2, parallel structure occurs when there is repletion of the word “my” in “my home”, “my spirit” and “my determination”. Climactic order has been achieved when arranging the words “notes”, “cards” and “gifts”. Parallel structure helps to achieve rhythm in the letter.
In paragraph 7, an example of metaphor is “My only other advice is to cherish every moment with those you love at every stage of your journey, as I have done this summer”.
