Aimed at improving the crop cycles and yield, genetic engineering has given the food industry a new tool in the form of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). These GMOs are created using altered DNA structures and incorporated genomes that govern the hormonal and specific…

Download file to see previous pages While the negativity erupts from various arguments that indicate towards harmful implications of using genetically modified food items, we cannot ignore the fact that information available today is incomplete. Societal knowledge of the implications of GMOs in ecological aspects is negligible while the societal implications of using genetically modified food are hardly investigated. In our study, we are going to check in which way we can make overall awareness around using GMOs more complete and what would be the best way to bring GMOs in daily life in modern day society.
To add to the chagrin, most of us are unaware that the food thus created does not have healthy implications once digested inside the human body. Children are born with congenital diseases and are found to suffer from deadly diseases like cancer and diabetes for no apparent worldly reason. In our article we measure why this social awareness is lacking and how we can increase it. Also, the need to reduce GMO treated food consumption has been studied.
near by plants. By the year 2000, when transgenic corn plants that carried the Bacillus thuringiensis gene were created, everybody in the field of agricultural research were overjoyed. Corn plants which had high yields and better insect resistant capacities were created in large numbers and could be stored and transported with ease to distant locations. A lot of expectations rose as insect resistant crop plants were being created in labs and in monitored fields. Subsequent projects and studies have shown the positive and negative sides of going for such modified crops.. They say that along with resistance to bacteria, the crops have also reduced the populations of non-target species of insects and birds that infested the fields. Now this would not be considered as a great ecological achievement for mankind (Phillips, 2008, 213).

...the concentration of chloro-flouro carbons in the atmosphere which is the fundamental cause of increase in global warming, and secondly, it has made people obese. The solution to both of these problems is in the use of bicycles. It is useless to think about a society in the modern age where there are no vehicles at all like it used to be in the past, because modern day lifestyle is fundamentally designed with it. Thus, solution needs to be with the massive availability of vehicles, because they are the need of every individual in the present age. Taking this into consideration, the only solution is in the use of bicycles as they do not consume petrol or gas, and also...

Environmental Problem And Solution

.... Deforestation not only impedes carbon capture, but the dead and decayed flora further releases CO2 into the environment. As the climate keeps getting warmer the various species in their respective ecosystems are exposed to threatening adaptability challenges as a result of which their number and diversity is rapidly on decline. A proper understanding and control of CO2 is pivotal to prevent an unstoppable catastrophic warming of the Earth. Environmental Problem and Solution For the purpose of better understanding the alarming situation we are in, I have picked a news article from BBC News, Washington by Jane O’Brien, 4 November 2010, “The World’s longest running carbon dioxide...

...and global warming are the greatest threats to the earth. Global warming impact is expected to increase in coming years. Solutions to this problem include advocacy for usage of clean and efficient energy. Individuals can take personal choices and actions at home, school, communities and workplaces. People should use energy-efficient appliances, and modes of transport. They should also reuse, reduce and recycle to decrease environmental impact of these materials. Governments should adopt international agreements and conventions that are meant to care for the milieu such as the Kyoto protocol (Reiter, p. 5-14). Objections to the Solution Energy-efficient appliances are not...

...10 May Problem Secondhand smoke (SHS) or environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) is made with a combination of smokes that emit from burning tobacco. Smokes which SHS consists of include the sidestream smoke and the mainstream smoke. The sidestream smoke is that which emits from the end of a burning cigar, pipe, or cigarette whereas the mainstream smoke is that which the smoker exhales. Although both apparently look alike, they are different in composition, with the sidestream smoke being richer in carcinogens and thus more harmful as compared to the mainstream smoke. Carcinogens are cancer-causing agents. In addition to that, the size of particles contained in the sidestream smoke is smaller as compared to...

Problem and Solution paper well s electricity and have since formed part of the day to day living of people. The exposure of a person to a mobile phone is usually measured in terms of Specific Absorption Rate. Mobile phones use radio frequency signals whose exposures to body issues have adverse health effects. Even though the exposures to these signals from phones are low and within EU limits, they could have long term effects on humans. The RF fields normally penetrate the tissues of the body to varied depths depending on their frequency. When energy from RF is absorbed into the body, it is changed into heat which is then carried away by body tissues. It is this heat that has health effects. Recent research has shown that the exposure of RF...

...pesticides as well as water flow as compared to GMOs. They even believe that if labeling would be made necessary, the cost of producing GMOs will increase as manufacturers of GMOs will need to keep detailed accounts in order to avoid any future lawsuits or meet the requirements of regulatory bodies. According to Knowles, a research was conducted by Northbridge Environmental Management Consultants and the researchers identified that if in the region of California, GMOs were to be labeled as natural products, the cost of producing GMOs will increase and thus will lead to an increase in the expenditure of $400 spent by each family that resides in the locality of California...
