Reflection on Major Paper Reflection on Major Paper This is a reflection on major paper one that I wrote in class. The paper was on oral participation in class: What contributes to it and what relationship it had on language development. It was more of a research paper on the issue related to oral participation.
I feel that this first major assignment was essential to my writing process. In the paper, i came across several things that proved easy to me. The first thing was coming up with an introduction. I found it easy to introduce the topic in the first paragraph. Moreover, i was able to explain the topic and issues to be covered. I was also able to develop a thesis statement on the first paragraph. The thesis statement was on analysis of the factors that influence oral participation in a foreign language class and its relations with English language development.
Additionally, i was able to come up with a topic sentence in each paragraph. This helped in giving direction the rest part of the paragraph would take. Further, the topic sentence at the beginning of the paragraph helped in ensuring that the rest of the paragraph covered the same issue. Hence, there was no mixing of ideas in one paragraph.
The other easy part was in coming up with a conclusion. The conclusion helped me demonstrate ability to analyse the issue. As a result, i was able to bring all the issues discussed in the body together.
However, the most challenging thing was in finding sources. I had no idea of where to get the correct information that was credible on the topic. I had to roam from one search engine to another. This made it difficult to collect and analyse information that was credible.
In conclusion, this first writing exposed me to many things. I believe it laid the foundation for me conducting more research on several issues. Moreover, I believe I will be able to work on few challenges such as searching for information and some punctuation errors that emerged in this writing. Read More

...The Case against Tipping by Michael Lewis Yes, tip jars can seem pointless when not much service is performed like “merely [handing] you a $2 muffin and perhaps a ruinous cup of coffee and then [ringing] them up on the register (Lewis),” but the word tip means to insure prompt service according to the Webster dictionary and should be done if service is prompt and friendly. ...The Case for Early American History and Literature The purpose of this paper, is to share with you all of the benefits that I have reaped from taking classes on Early American history and literature. You may be wondering how a class which focuses on historical events such as the Salem witch trials and the Revolutionary War, can have any relevance today. To be honest, I felt the same way before the classes began. Once I realized that historical events such as the Salem Witch Trials, are crucial for us to understand and learn from, so that they never happen again. It is hard to believe that there was ever a time where it was acceptable to burn women alive based on random allegations that they were witches; but that is exactly... Case for...

Companies that have substantial management often solve the challenge amicably and make sure that the problem does not materialize later. In this essay, I will talk about Merck’s Company, the challenges the company went through, and the progression it took to find the underlying cause of the problem. All the stakeholders that I perceive to have a bona fide interest in the Merck Company’s Pyramid, which is a successful business organization, are the Maidens Miller Company that produces garments, the Coca-Cola Company that deals in production of beverages, AT & T company...

..., written in first-person point-of-view, apparently seem to tell simple stories about their surrounding and lives in it. However, symbols like the yellow wall paper, the quilt and the yard provide ample food for thought for the readers; transforming the stories to a multilayered text that wants its readers to take a further step to realize the emotions and psychological turmoil of the characters in the story. This essay therefore, will try to find how both Gilman and Walker use symbols to convey their message to the reader. Written in first-person point-of-view, Gilmans "The Yellow Wallpaper" apparently follows the structure of an "epistolary", where the narrator seems to be writing to herself sitting in a room...
