The author also uses credible personal experience stories to create a formidable notion of tragic events that women encounter, thereby providing the feelings of why the women need guns to protect themselves. There are strengths and weaknesses associated with the Silko’s opinions. The strengths are the usage of relevant historical and current happenings that explains his utterances. She uses strong arguments that are credible in her violent experiences from strangers including personal experiences with drunken hunters. The story also have weakness in that Silko did not use the expert opinions to explain the impact of arming women with gun, thereby weakening the credibility of her arguments. She sensationally refutes claims of punishing the hunters claiming they deserve death since they can come for her later if punished. This seems to deny the offenders justice and rights to be heard. This essay demonstrates the gender discrimination and inequality where women are totally mistreated by men. The strength of the article is provided by the creativity used by the author in creating perceptions for readers to understand the worst things associated with water boarding. His convincing metrics that water boarding should be restricted in the US is achievable using rhetorical devices.
