In the case of To His Coy Mistress, Marvell uses the title of the poem to outline the state of affairs of a young man who writes a plea to a young woman. This is the case because he used to make his son wear his “good shoes” on Sunday. Therefore, it is true that the boy’s father took moral upbringing of his boy seriously.
For the two personae, the difference between them is evident when in the case of Those Winter Sundays, the persona’s father makes a lot of sacrifice for him, but the boy only realizes later in life that he failed to appreciate his efforts. It is now too late, as the boy cannot go back in time to show appreciation to his father based the sacrificed ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
