Disadvantages of being a male person One disadvantage of being a man is that one cannot cry openly to vent out like girls do. Men have to always showthat they are very strong physically as well as emotionally that can be daunting at times, particularly in the emotionally demanding situations like death of a loved one or a breakup. Sometimes, not venting out distorts a man internally and internal wounds thus caused take even longer than external wounds to heal up. Another disadvantage of being a man is that one assumes the fundamental responsibility of earning money and providing for the family.

For women, earning money is a choice whereas for men, it is a duty. In the present age when the jobs are scarce, this duty becomes hard to fulfill but there is no option since this duty is tied to gender. Another disadvantage of being a man is that one is expected to be physically strong. The stereotypical heroic image of a man demands one to have a muscular body with a lot of strength. While some are fortunate to be in shape, a considerable population of men is out of shape; they are either too skinny or too fat.

Either way, they do not fit the conventional image of a man. Men have to shave on daily basis while women do not grow hair on the face. Some men are fatigued to the extent that they go for permanent hair removal surgeries. Shaving daily is risky for the skin and also brings along the risk of cuts and bruises on the skin.
