This book is a narration by Alex who recounts to us of that night when the boys doped and got high and then went on a violent streak about the city. They beat up two old men, stole a car and then broke into the house of a writer, beat him up and then forced him to watch while they raped his wife. After that Alex and co go back to Korova Milkbar where Alex has a fight with one of the gang members and that too just because he made fun of the opera singer Alex was a fan off. The point to be noted is the fact that how violent Alex actually is and how he would beat up his own friend for no apparent reason this shows his inclination towards violence and the satisfaction that he gained from it.
The other night Alex and his gang break into the house of an old woman who calls the police and his gang members temporarily blind him so that he may get caught and they can get even with him. Alex goes to jail for 14 years as the woman that he raped had died of shock and he was convicted for murder. Prison was difficult, but he befriended the prison Chaplain who took him under his wing when he saw Alex’s interest in the Bible little did the Chaplain knows that Alex devoured himself with the sex, drinking and fighting scenes in the Bible. Alex ad a few other of prison colleagues beat another prison mate dead which makes the government volunteer Alex to be the guinea pig of their experiment called the Ludovico’s Technique. Alex would be injected with some medicine right after a filling meal and then forced to watch violent films while the medicine would propel in him vomiting, heachaches and feelings of nausea. This way Alex associates sickness with violence and hence, even the sight of anything violent would make him sick. Alex was set free from prison as he was deemed cured.
