Th Mark on the Wall - Essay Example

Client’s 12 October The Mark on the Wall was written by Virginia Wolf, she was a great who wrote several very intriguing stories. The Mark on the Wall is as interesting as some of her other works, this paper will shed light upon this short story. I really liked the story; it tells us a lot about people and their perceptions. Human beings introspect on more occasions than one in their lives, when we introspect we connect events and think about them. We also apply logic to those events and their possible occurrences.

The Mark on the Wall presents a pattern of how one would think about a certain mark which is bothering the author; she thinks it may be a keyhole only to conclude that it is a snail at the very end. Before arriving at the conclusion the author thinks about several possibilities of what that mark could be, this goes to show our introspective nature and the ability to dwell deeper into things. I never knew that one could think so deeply about something, a mark on this particular occasion. The internal monologue of the narrator continues till the very end and beyond, it is safe to assume that even though it was a snail on the wall the narrator would not have given any rest to their mind and the internal monologue would have continued.
