The first step which I took in order to learn more about your very famous college was to refer your site for further information. In the past I had read about the college of business in magazines and newspapers and had also heard about it from friends whom I approached in order to discuss my career path. These friends and family members had a business background and had themselves either passed out from Stern or were alumni from other business schools. Apart from consulting the website, I browsed through a few more links on the internet which gave me comparative rankings of all B schools.

This helped me read reviews from varied sources from all over the world. The first thing that would attract any aspirant to a business school is the level of grace which its faculty is bestowed with. From what I’ve read, stern is blessed with teachers who are experts in the field and whose works continue to be used by various other schools. It would be a tremendous support to learn from leaders who among others are of the likes of the former president of the American Finance Association, the executive director of the Entertainment, Media and Technology Program (EMT).

Where the faculty as well as the students come from diverse backgrounds (representing as many as forty different countries) and have a strong grasp on the subject, where the mind is set free to fly, and where research is given priority, one can only wish and yearn to study in such an institute. The most recent example of its dedication has been presented in the shape of the Volatility Institute by Nobel Laureate Prof. Robert Engle. When I get admission in the school, I hope to join as many clubs as my curriculum would allow space for.

As of now, I have my heart set on a few activities which would be first on my priority list as a student. I hope to join the Sales and Trading Club which is open to first year students. I believe that as a novice in the profession, one has to start from the grass root level and thus, before one can venture into the world of understanding the managerial aspect of business, we should really focus on understanding sales. Other than this, I hope to be a part of the speech masters club so that I know the various tricks of the trade which can be put to use in order to hone my communication skills.

In order that I have fun along with getting a regular dose of exercise and to join a group of like minded individuals, I will join the stern adventure club. Giving back to the community via social cause has always motivated me and lastly I would like to add that recently I read about the race for cure program which sounds appealing to me since I am a marathon runner and being a part of this race would be an honour for me.
