The 3 A's of Awesome The average life of a human being runs for about a hundred years, and all this time that mankind has to live is subjected to numerous opportunities and challenges, which run concurrently. It is therefore up to man to choose how to live life in order for his or her life to be awesome. An awesome life is considered to be one that contains three key aspects, that each person must seek to have if at all life is to be as enjoyable as the speaker, Neil Pasricha, terms it to be. An enjoyable life is one that focuses on attitude, awareness and authenticity as the central to come up with an awesome life.

Attitude, being the first point on which the speaker supports his thesis states that with the right attitude, one can do anything. The key part is that “we are all gonna get lumps, and we are all gonna get bumps”, and from this, the outlook that one has on life depends on the attitude that he or she applies to the situation (Pasricha). This is because the future is highly unpredictable with only one predictable aspect, which is largely the fact that the future rarely goes as per our plans if at all it does.

This is all factual and life is largely unpredictable meaning that whatever one decides to do, the perception to life and the situation as a whole is supposed to dictate how life proceeds or rather recedes in quality. A great attitude is required for an awesome life, and this largely agreed to with the features on offer, as well as the options provided in that a great attitude allows one to grieve and face the future with newly sobered eyes. This is contrary to the negative attitude that makes one “swirl and twirl, and gloom and doom forever” (Pasricha).

In modern life, and even in traditional times, this has been seen, where attitudes determine how people make it in life by either pulling through tough situations by employing a positive attitude as opposed to glooming and pining over their bad situations in life. However, this can be taken to mean that having a positive attitude to all situations is the way to go, but there are certain situations that do not necessarily apply this principle as it allows conformity, which is negative and bound to ruin a life or the awesomeness of life altogether.

The speaker goes ahead to mention awareness as part of the second aspect of awesome, where awareness highlights the first time one gets to do become aware of something be it a situation or object. The entire concept of this point is to embrace the situation, as it is as if one is viewing it for the time, which is similar to what the average three-year-old does. A look at this aspect shows that this may be true to some level as children tend to look at objects and situations as if it is the first time in that, when confronted with new situations, one is meant to savor the moment.

However, one would wonder how he or she is supposed to suffer a demeaning situation or one that is too difficult to put up with. If one were to put a great together with awareness, then this is the only that one can have a great awareness to an awesome life while savoring every moment of it rather than pining and whining over everything negative. This can again be taken to mean that life has its ups and downs and that these situations may keep repeating themselves, but a new awareness to these situations every time they come up, then one would not have to contend with fears, but would have a fresh outlook to life.

In addition to this sense of awareness, the speaker can also be taken to mean ceasing the moment following the use of relatable examples, “…the first time you pulled a twenty dollar bill out of your pocket and said found money.” (Pasricha). As a result of this example, the speaker simply implies that any situation can turn into an opportunity that needs to be savored, ad that it does not necessarily mean that it is predetermined as attitude dictates an unpredictable future. This therefore is agreeable with the immediate implication of spontaneity in life and savoring moments, as well as obtaining a positive outlook towards life.

Neil Pasricha cites the last “A” of awesome as authenticity, which is all about being oneself and being okay with who one is. Being comfortable with one’s state of being is one of the best things that one can do as it means acceptance in life and one follows his or her heart without being pretentious towards anyone or the way the feel about the subject (Pasricha). Without authenticity, life has proven that people will go to extremes in order to achieve their goals, which are not necessarily their own, but rather those which society imposes on them as they try to fit in.

In spite of one’s personality and what one likes, provided one is comfortable with that then there is little to worry about, as there is little to make one feel left out and depressed about life. As a result, one can relate to this in real life again by looking around at how social people conduct themselves in that they appear to be always happy, and this can be affiliated with having a sense of self-worth emanating from acceptance of their state of being. Therefore, authenticity is crucial to the making and maintenance of an awesome life free of worries, but this is when it works hand in hand with attitude and awareness.

In conclusion, there are three key points on which to focus, and all these work together for the greater good, which is awesome albeit they depend on the situation, where positivity is needed. From this, combining all factors positively, then life becomes awesome and worth living, as well as enjoyable and one in which moments can be relished. Works Cited Pasricha, Neil.
