Therefore, to explicitly define the program objective, the following is hereby proposed: to train and educate identified and authorized members of non-profit organizations in utilizing social media tools to enable them to establish local awareness on their respective mission and endeavors that could benefit the local community. This definition could be classified as focused on participant learning where individual changes, organizational change, and community change are aimed to be gained.

Individual change is aimed to be effected through educating and training identified and authorized members of the organization to use social media tools and applications that would promote the organization to the local community. Organizational change is earmarked to be effected through achieving overall success in improving the local community members’ awareness on the organizations mission, vision, and goals; as well as informing them of the activities that local community members could be involved in. . Identify social media tools that could be used to enhance awareness of local community members on the organizations’ endeavors; 2.

Discuss with experts on social media tools the ways, strategies, and techniques to utilize social media applications towards the advantage of the organization. 3. Understand which social media tools and applications could best serve the interests of the organization and its stakeholders. 4. To apply what they have learned regarding identifying, developing, and designing social media tools that would be most useful in furthering awareness of the local community on the organizations’ mission, vision, and goals.

Selecting and Organizing Content In selecting and organizing content, it was emphasized that the focus would be on determining what the participants must, should and could know (Caffarella, 2002). For the particular program, this portion would entail determining the facets, components, and elements that participants need to know in terms of using social media tools. The detailed identification of participants was noted in Unit 3 (Unit 3: Building a base of support and developing program ideas, 2013).

As such, the content should include an assessment of what the participants currently know about social media tools and the amount, scope, and level of information they need to achieve the identified learning objectives. Selecting Instructional Techniques and Resources The selection of instructional techniques was noted to be premised on a number of factors: the learning objectives, instructors, learners, context, transfer of learning, content, technique characteristics, variety, logistics constraints and time (Caffarella, 2002, p. 175).
