Question 1;
There are three important key words in the topic five. They include concepts, worldviews, and paradigms. Concepts are ideas inferred from particular occurrences leading to plans or schemes. They are mental representations or ideas about existing or non- existing objects, Worldviews are beliefs generally accepted in the society, through which we base understanding of our own self, understand others, and understand the environment; Paradigms are examples that try to explain ideas or facts through highlighting other instances similar to that mentioned beforehand.
There are two different theories used in the study of self. The medieval worldview postulated that self-encompassed both the mind and the body only; the two are separated and studied. The other theory studied self in terms of behaviour where self includes the mind is broken down into behaviours and response to stimuli hence relationship between body mind and nature.
Word views are set of beliefs through which you organize your understanding of self and others. These worldviews include;
Medieval worldview, which was based on the writing of Aristotle. There was a belief that self was the spirit which resided in every being and that all spirits resided in God.
Enlightenment worldview, which was based on ideas of Descartes and Newton. They believed that nature was subjective and self was made up of mind and body
Modern worldview-where self-included the body and mind both of which would be broken down and studied in parts.
Post-modern world view- is the current stage where god is said to have died and hence every self can do anything .This view recognizes every self as different from the other selves due to time and place.

Thesis Statement
The paper aims at helping individuals know more about self and different world views used to explain self(Julia 70) .
Question 5
The topic is about notions of self and the different worldviews concerning self-according to History Sociology, Psychology and Philosophy (Julia 70). The worldviews on the concept of self depends on time context surrounding the self, which can be classified into four time periods namely, medieval period, Enlightenment period, modern and post-modern period. Medieval period based its view of self on Aristotle’s teachings whereby self was embedded on a strict hierarchical system with every self-having its own place in the hierarchy. Self was in organic world where it was fluid, amalgamated, and identified with other selves of all forms (Julia 72). In Enlightenment period, self-constituted the body and the mind, which is the thinking subject. In this period, self was separable into its components and studied in its simplest forms (Julia 74).
“In Psychology, of course psychology is a discipline where the self and the mind is primarily studied. Now if we take the idea of the bodies as part of nature. Let us remember nature is dead and we can use the reductive method, we can breakdown the body in small parts and look at nature. Well therefore, can break down the body into smaller parts and look at it. We then perhaps said some psychologists such as BF Skinner; we can break down the mind and study it in smaller parts. He developed what is known as behavioural Psychology. In behavioral psychology, the whole person is reduced to their behaviour and that behaviour can be reduced further to stimuli and response” Sic? (Julia 74).
Modern worldview theorized that, self only included the mind, which was independent of the body and Nature (Julia 75). Post-modern worldview postulated that, every self is different from another. It postulated that was possible for one self to assume different forms of self at any particular time leading to descriptive memory as we try to convince ourselves who we truly are due to fragmented selves (Julia 76).According to Process worldview,
“Mind and body cannot be separated. I am body. Mind and self cannot be separated from nature because…The process world views situates us as selves back in our souls and connects us to the soul of the world” Sic (Julia 77)
Question 6
Quotation
“In Psychology, of course psychology is a discipline where the self and the mind is primarily studied. Now if we take the idea of the bodies as part of nature. Lets remember nature is dead and we can use the reductive method, we can breakdown the body in small parts and look at nature. Paraphrase
Psychology is a discipline where both the self and the mind are principally studied. The body as a part of nature is also dead and therefore can be broken down into smaller parts through reductive method and study nature using the broken body parts. Similarly, BF Skinner was able to break down the mind into behaviours and response of the mind to stimuli, hence developed behavioral psychology that study self-behaviours and response (Julia 74).
Question 7
It is vital for every writer to understand the differences between concepts, worldviews, and paradigms as they write blogs. These three terms are used in place of each other but are very different and hence should never be mixed up in their usage. Concepts are ideas inferred from particular occurrences leading to plans or schemes. They are mental representations or ideas about existing or non- existing objects. For instance, if there is poor performance in learning institutions, the management may come up with ideas on how to improve this performance. These ideas are concepts since they are inferred from the existing occurrence as a way of providing answers to the problem.
Worldviews are beliefs generally accepted in the society, where we base understanding of our own self understand others and understand the environment. Worldviews are influenced by culture and times hence vary with time. Worldviews are accepted by all people in the society as the basics of comprehending nature, self and other selves. Some of these worldviews include medieval worldview, scientific worldview, modern and postmodern worldview. For instance, a medieval worldview associated every occurrence to a supernatural force-God who controlled all aspects of life (Julia 74). A postmodern worldview is that there is no God and that all occurrences are because of man personal doing (Julia 78).
Paradigms are examples that try to explain ideas or facts through highlighting other instances similar to that mentioned beforehand. In a statement, paradigms are used the same as examples. That being the case it would be wrong to use worldview in place of a concept or vice versa. Reading this topic helps to differentiate these three terms hence avoiding confusions during writing. It is also important to learner since it helps them fully understand expectations of the university and university culture since the topic explain reasons for miscommunication and impacts of miscommunications. This is important to learners since it helps reduce miscommunication between the learners and the instructors. For instance, the learner is supposed to articulate ideas in a more calm way and provide the information in a logical sequence of proposition, followed by evidence to support the stated fact and finally giving a summarizing conclusion of all the issues raised in the arguments. The topic also directs learners on instructors’ requirements’ such as on essays where the topic gives detailed marking procedures used in marking students’ essays. With full knowledge of requirements of essay writing, students write better according to guidance given. From the topic, a well-written essay should be relevant to the question the writer is trying to answer, fully clarified avoiding all errors. The work should also have appropriate style and words used must be forming a comprehensible statements (Brigid $ John 88).That said, the topic is relevant to week’s topic – the introduction to the topic in the Unit Reader and also on academic writings since it has the vital requisites for writing academic essays.
