In the twenty-first century, educators are now looking forth to create all-inclusive educational institutions, where each student would be treated as a unique person, with different learning skills and other varying abilities. In this context, modern-day educators aim to create a conducive atmosphere, where those with LDs would be able to integrate into the realms of a normal classroom and thus become a part of the normal society. My article will take an in-depth look at the term ‘learning disabilities’ while exploring the social responsibilities towards individuals showing this disorder.

This article will take a look at the cognitive learning processes, focusing on the Reflection versus Impulsivity type, while seeking to find the best possible solution for integrating children with LDs into our educational system.“I missed [my nurse] terribly. Every day I wrote her—a short, badly written ill-spelled note writing and spelling were always terribly difficult for me. . . . I was always recognized, though quite kindly, as the “slow one” of the family. . . .

It was quite true, and I knew it and accepted it. ”—Agatha Christie in ‘An Autobiography’.In the US and in other countries worldwide, during the early nineteenth century, children with learning difficulties were socially perceived as belonging into 3 classes: a) the particular child must be suffering from some sort of an emotional problem; b) the child must be mentally retarded, or c) the child must be coming from culturally or socially lower (disadvantaged) classes. Later another group was added to this classification, where the children were assumed to have some sort of brain damage (Cratty, and Goldman, 3).

However, in the past few decades, a large number of researches on the subject of learning disabilities (LDs) have identified many of the factors that cause differences amongst the various learners in their inability to learn or grasp subjects taught in our educational institutions.
