Students will learn to identify and categorise sport injuries. Students will also look into preventive measures that can be adopted to minimize the risk of injury during sports.
The students will also learn how to deal with injuries sustained during sports both psychologically and physically All learners will be able to identify common types of injury and categorise them as per severity and recurrence. The students will in addition be able to identify ways to reduce injuries during preparation, while playing and in between sporting activities. Students will also identify various drugs commonly used by athletes both in medicine and in doping. Students will investigate the various drugs in sports. They will also discuss the several rules adopted by various sporting committees and anti-doping agencies. Students will also look into the ethics and morality of drug use in sports. Students will know what a drug is in sports. They will also understand the boundary between drug use and drug abuse. Students will understand the ethics and morality against doping in sports and appreciate the value of fair play.

Students will also learn identify dietary needs of the body Students will research into diets of top athletes. Students will also learn to identify approximate nutritional value of different food types and what each kind is responsible for Students will be able to come up with a personal dietary plan based upon the activities they are involved in on a daily basis.

Assignments ICT Biology 6 Issues in Sports Learners will be able to list and discuss prevalent issues in sports currently. The learners will also develop problem solutions to the issues. Students will discuss the types and kinds of issues affecting sports. They will also discuss the impact of these issues in the sports they affect. Students will be able to identify, discuss, and provide solutions to some of the issues affecting sports currently.
