Different forms of music are accorded different forms of perceptions. In the same way, different forms of music convey different messages to the society (Alipour, 36). In this regard, it is of critical significance to note that music, as a form of entertainment, plays key roles in ensuring that people get rid of stressful situations. This is not only healthy to the brain but also to the general well being of the individual. It is important to note that different forms of music exist. The variety of the forms of music means that not all forms of music can perform a specific function in the lives of human beings. The variety of the forms of music means that each form of music may be suitable for a specific form of task. For instance, there are love songs, blues, reggae as well as raga. Others include the pop, rap as well as gospel music. It is critical to note that different forms of music are always suitable in the work set up. These include such songs as smooth reggae, raga as well as pop songs. This paper is going to discuss some of the reasons to support the fact that using music to teach English is likely to make students learn English faster and show improved performance as well as good scores. In short, the paper is going to explore the impacts of music in learning English. In connection to the above, it is of crucial significance to note that music can also play significant roles in the education sector. The use of music in the education sector to teach students certain subjects may be associated with increased performance of students (Alipour, 34). However, not all the students taught using music must show positive results. A fraction of the students may get absorbed into the music that they fail to understand the role of music in their lesson. A number of students may fail to understand that the music introduced during some lessons is geared towards ensuring that they understand the concepts of the subject being taught in an in depth manner. However, on the other hand, the use of music in teaching the students may lead to a greater proportion of such students depicting better results. It is of critical significance to note that the use of music to help in teaching students English as a foreign language may lead to improved and enhanced performance of those students in English (Alipour, 48). This follows the several roles played by such music in ensuring that the students have increased and improved understanding of the concepts underlying the subject of English. In most cases, introduction of smooth, soft and sweet music in teaching English always leads to increased understanding by the students. In addition, such music plays the role of relieving the students of stress. This is very important in realization of better performance from the subject of English if music is incorporated in the learning process. Other than relief from stress, the soft music also boosts the memory of the students. This is important in ensuring that the level of understanding accorded to each and every concept being taught is not compromised. As a result, majority of the students will have to understand the concepts in an in depth manner. This helps initiate or facilitate the realization of better results in students. Music is also associated with the modification of human moods and attitudes. Music can make a person with bad moods to change towards positive moods (Alipour, 42). This is also very closely associated with a change in attitude. A bad attitude towards any issue always leads to realization of poor results towards the same issue. It is of critical significance to note that in classroom set up, different students always develop a variety of attitudes towards certain subjects. This may be due to the general dislike of the subject or dislike towards the instructors of the subject. In relevance to learning English, especially in situations where English is taught as a foreign language, students with bad attitudes may most likely show very poor results. However, it is important to note that music is associated with a change in attitude therefore, introducing music as a tool to teach English is likely to make a number of students who may have developed bad attitudes towards English to change their attitudes. Therefore, a change of an attitude from bad to good towards the English subject is likely to make such students to score good results from the subject. In this way, the use of English will have aided the students in learning English, as well as help them depict good results. It is of crucial significance to highlight the fact that music can play significant roles in human beings. One of these is dependent on the role of music in shaping a person’s moods. Music can make someone to feel bad, sad or even happier (Alipour, 46). In this regard, it is of crucial significance to note that music always leads to modification of one’s moods. Increased modification of moods is also associated to modification of one’s habits. This also trickles down to modification of one’s behaviors. Lastly, the modification of one’s moods may also precipitate alteration of one’s attitude. It is of critical significance to note that music performs all these functions. In classroom, things sometimes get difficult for students. This may always involve stressful situations and circumstances that emanate from the school or classroom environment. Such stressful and unwelcoming situations may always be precipitated by their fellow students, instructors, or the real life problems emanating from their social setups. These situations are always associated with development of bad moods by such students who experience them (Alipour, 56). In addition, stressful and unwelcoming environment may always make a student feel very sad. One of the hindrances towards the realization of good grades as well as overall notable academic performance in academic institutions is always the issue of stress in the learning environment. Stress contributes a lot towards modification of good moods to bad moods. Bad moods are not ideal in ensuring success in everything. Bad mood is always associated with behaviors of dislike. This can always have very bad influence in the academic outcomes of students. Stress makes learning become very difficult. Stress in classroom setup can also result from the fatigue. In this regard, fatigue can always emanate from the fact that students take a long time sitting in one place. However, it is of critical importance to note that music always dispel such elements of stress, bad moods as well as fatigue. Introducing music in classroom to help in teaching subjects like English can be very prolific in informing good performance. In some instances, some subject may always seem boring to the students, thereby precipitating a feel of boredom and stress. However, the use of music creates a source of peace within. In addition, music can act as stress-proof factor within the students. This helps in reducing stress thereby making learning more entertaining, enjoyable and lovely. The relaxation effect created by music is also essential in ensuring improved performance if music is used to teach English (Salcedo, 34). Moreover, situations involving bad attitudes and stress emanating from the social setup of the students, the problems with the instructors of their fellow students always present pathetic moods and attitudes towards such students. In such a condition, the learning process may greatly be hampered. In this regard, in order to make the student gain concentration, there is need to go for something that may help resolve the situation. Soft, sweet and soothing music is the best option in this regard. The use of music in such a situation will make that student to modify the attitude, moods as well as relieve the student from stress (Salcedo, 74). This is geared towards ensuring that the student improves his performance. Therefore, the use of English in teaching is greatly associated with improved academic performance, especially in learning English by foreign students. This is because music always makes people have some special feelings. The use of music in schools or in classrooms to teach English language is likely to make the students like the subject so much. This is because it is likely to make the students develop emotions of excitement, joy as well as happiness. These are the core requirements in ensuring improved understanding of the concepts of English being taught to the students. The use of music in such situations makes students have an enabling environment, a lively and lovely environment suitable for learning. This helps in the realization of good performance. As such, it is important to emphasize the fact that using music to teach English classes is very important in making the students grasp the concepts as well as boost their performances in English. A broken relationship between the teacher or instructor as well as the students always makes the students refrain from listening to the contents being taught. In addition, such broken relationships always inform reluctance in active engagement in the learning activities on the side of the students. This is likely to make the students depict very poor results in such subjects. This is because things such as consultations between the students and the teachers will be hampered. In this respect, students will be missing a lot from their teachers and instructors. However, it is important to note that introduction of music in the learning process may make such attitudes be swayed away from the minds of the students and their instructors. As such, they maintain positive attitudes necessary for increased performance. On the other hand, students may have broken relationships amongst themselves. However, introduction of music may bond them together due to shared interests.
