Joining Cornell University I am a student at northern Essex community college. I seek to join the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University for a major in Biology. In joining Cornell University for a major in Biology, I aim at finishing the Introductory Biology Cluster that is a pre requisite in my medical career (Cornell University 1). Indeed, I will regularly monitor my progress in the biology major to ensure that I attain good grades that will help me to achieve my academic and personal objectives.
My past academic experience influenced my decision of choosing to join Cornell University for a major in Biology. After moving to the United States last year for further studies, I faced numerous life and academic challenges. I had to join English classes to enhance my proficiency in English language. I did my TOEFL exam and passed well. I can now write and speak fluently in English. I also joined science classes from 7th grade that helped me to lay a good foundation for my medical career. I attained Grade A in Biology and Grade B in Mathematics and Chemistry.
Despite my achievements, I want to do challenging courses that will enhance my competitiveness and professionalism in the future. Apparently, my academic achievements allow me to join Cornell University for a major in Biology. I also possess immense research, communication, and leadership skills having served in the student organisation. Moreover, I have volunteered in two initiatives that advocated for health awareness in the society. Transferring to Cornell will further my academic interests.
Indeed, Cornell University will allow me to select biology concentration and specific courses that lead to a pre-med program. Consequently, the pre-med program will get me into medical school. The pre-med program accommodates students majoring in biology. The program will also enhance my skills in research, decision-making, report writing, and analysis that are fundamental in my medical career. Apparently, pre-med program is a prerequisite for joining medical school. It will also boost my performance in the Medical College Admission Test that is a requirement to joining medical schools (American Medical Association 1).
Various factors influenced my choice of Cornell University. The university has competent and sufficient faculty members that teach different programs. The university and its faculty staff adore research and scholarly work, which are major aspects in the medical career (Cornell University 1). Moreover, the College of Arts and Sciences offers good advice on how to succeed in the medical field. Indeed, the college provides various services that include advising and effective programs that enable students to pursue their medical career goals.
The knowledge offered at the College of Arts and Sciences will enable me to join Cornell University Medical School and solve complex problems. The letters of evaluation offered by the college will help me to apply to the medical school. Notably, Cornell students record high grades in pre-med programs that boost their chances of joining medical schools (Cornell University 1).
