Later on in chapter five of the book, Warren describes aspects of the lives of successful people and what they did to attain their success. One gets to learn that wherever nature decides to take an individual, one should be willing to venture into that, if he/she wants to learn anything. This has been described by Rushworth Kidder, where the theory of leadership is illuminated through a deeper aspect of moral courage. Moral courage has been identified as the readiness and willingness to bear with danger for the sake of an individual’s principles. It is as a useful necessity in today’s world (Rushworth, 2005). Warren further goes on to ask individuals to constantly be on the move.
Chapter six of the book talks of making it possible for individuals to do as they wish. This is not only because of what they know, but because of how they feel. How leaders feel makes it possible for them to act and behave with their employees and their organizations. This influences the behavior exhibited by leaders, and ultimately, employees of various organizations. By reflecting upon some of the things done in the past, leaders can get to find new ways of doing things, and ultimately, get to learn of new things that might enable them to grow. This is for both the organization and the people that make-up the organization.
It should be taken as a source of personal and organizational growth. In Transparency: How Leaders Create a Culture of Candor, the authors bring in the concept of transparency in different organizations that exist in the world. It is vital to maintain the flow of information among all working personnel in organizations in order to reduce problems that exist (Warren, Goleman & O’Toole, 2008).
