Personal Goals in Life s Target Behavior I would like to be healthy in terms of physical fitness; therefore, I want to make it a routine to go for a jog every morning before having breakfast. In addition, I would like to go to the school gym at least once a week and carry out non-cardiovascular exercises such as lifts. This I feel is important for toning my body muscles as I get into better shape. I would like to carry this out for eight weeks consecutively, monitor the changes and record any improvements or adjustments that need to be made in my working out routine. For two days within the week, I would like to alternate jogging with swimming to keep the working out routine interesting and not monotonous. I choose swimming because I would like to get better at it and I generally enjoy it, I have informed my roommate of this plan and asked her to act as ‘sponsor’ throughout the eight weeks as she actively participates in sports.
Achieving physical fitness will be measured when I participate in a charitable marathon that is three weeks away. Improvement of my swimming skills will be measured by my speed in completing laps as I go along; and in six weeks I plan on participating in a swimming competition here at school. Behavioral wise, I hope to develop discipline since in order to achieve this I must remain consistent and committed till the eight weeks are over. I have bought a sport watch that will help me monitor my heart rate as I jog and swim, this will provide a reflection of any improvements in terms of physical fitness.
In the past, I have been unable to regularly work out as I am lazy and find it difficult to wake up early enough. In addition, I find myself eating a lot of junk food in between classes as a way of passing time. With this new plan, I hope to utilize my free time in between classes or over the weekends to improve my swimming and tone my body through non-cardiovascular exercises at the gym.
Moreover, I have sought support from my roommate who promises to ‘push’ me when I get lazy, My roommate has also agreed to record frequency of my retarding tendencies that keep me aware of what is holding me back. Such tendencies include eating junk food and sleeping late to watch movies that prevent me from waking up early enough to take a jog before classes or group discussions commence.
It has been four weeks since I started this life change plan; I have been able to go for the jog for twenty of the thirty days, and swimming for six. The four days I failed to undertake any of the exercises happened because I went for a friend’s birthday party and was unable to wake up and failing to get started on an assignment early enough resulting in last minute rush. I have learnt that I easily lose sight of my goals because of non-commitment to them; therefore, in order to make the working out happen uninterrupted I have included a rewarding system that will keep me motivated and committed.
I rate myself 79% in reaching my goal as I have been able to jog and swim longer over time though the pace is slow. Also, I was not able to carry out any exercise for four days
I need to avoid postponing assignments and over indulging during the weekend as this hinders me from doing the exercises. I need to push myself more by running longer and doing more laps, so as to achieve 100%
From the two setbacks, I learnt that it is easy to lose focus therefore a rewarding system should help to keep me motivated and committed enough to stay moderate when going out; moreover, starting early on assignments even if it is writing a single page on the first day it is given.
The successful aspects of my project have been an improvement in pace and this has made me realize I can achieve a much higher pace and should therefore push myself harder.
I have learnt that I have a tendency to procrastinate assignments and slacking in terms of pushing myself to be better at things, in this case, swimming
What I have learnt about myself has made me realize if I am to improve my physical wellbeing and mental acuity, I need to develop discipline in completing assignments well within time and challenge myself to increasing my pace. Read More

He was just a servant of God, an instrument in preaching and disseminating the good news to people. He claims no supernatural power but his talent in proclaiming God’s word has never failed to show God’s power and sovereignty (Strober, & Strober, 2003).

He has a sister named Katherine, both of which were raised in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. My Expectations for Counselling Work Placement

Emotional trauma and physical trauma are two different types of trauma. However, they are not mutually exclusive. They may or may not be related depending on the context of the situation. For example, wounds from physical trauma like a gunshot wound may eventually heal. However, the emotional impact of the incident may last him long. It will take him time before he comes out. The emotional wounds and repercussions of the traumatic event may be long-lasting. Thus, psychological trauma can take years to rebound. If it’s left untreated and unresolved, it can become more devastating than the physical wounds. It can’t be left unattended and should be dealt with immediately.

In my first counseling work placement,...

Creating a Life: Frankenstein

For years, many had supported the Primordial Soup Theory. According to this belief, after an electric current hit a body of water, a chemical reaction occurred among the dissolved inorganic Nitrogen, Carbon and other elements, to form the primordial autotrophic organism, quite possibly a bacterium.  On the other hand, some say life from the outer space made its way to Earth through meteorites. Finally, many believe life is not a series of accidents and coincidence but is planned and created by a Higher Being. The ultimate test to prove the validity of a theory on how life came about is to bring in all the premises together and successfully show that life was generated as a result.

Out of all the theories, this scie...
