It would be difficult to pinpoint the exact moment I decided I would pursue a career in Professional Counseling. However, it stems from the fact that I would like to help people. I believe that in getting to know one better, we are able to get closer to living a contented and prosperous life. In addition, I believe in harmonious existence whether it is at home, workplace or society in general. Through professional counseling, I hope to help people understand themselves and learn to work on their shortcomings.

This will ensure that we can comfortably co-relate with others regardless of their opinions, beliefs or background. Moreover, I believe professional counseling makes it easier for people to express themselves better where they have previously found it difficult. For my undergraduate, I studied Psychology which I strongly believe complements Professional Counseling well. In addition, I did a minor in Political Science, which combined with Psychology; it helps understand the political relationship between human minds.

This is crucial, as politics is one of the major sources of strife within society, as people will inevitably have different opinions on the same. The combination I believe will afford me versatility as I get into the job market. That, coupled with a Masters from your renowned institution, I am confident that I will be well equipped to succeed in my career as it will place me in a competitive position.I am keen on joining your institution as it not only provides excellent academic opportunity but also it highlights great extra-curricular activities.

I consider participation in extra-curricular activities valuable in developing an overall great personality. I am an excellent fit into this university not only because of my academic performance.
