Human Performance: Theories and Principles of Motivation

I have been assigned two HRM consultants who are busy designing the motivation questionnaire to be administered to all the group employees. However, this also gave me an opportunity to reflect over my personal strengths and weaknesses as I would soon have the most responsible task of convincing the top management about the contents of the questionnaire and the finalization of motivation report and its possible uses in the group in the formulation of exact policies and tactics to improve employee morale. My immediate boss gave me this entire assignment breaking the line structure and formalized it by getting it ratified by the board. He also built an incentive and bonus deal for me to be awarded on the successful completion of the...

Diversity in Education

There is a form of cultural imperialism that exists within countries and that is, arguably, destructive of personality and helps create school failure where success is possible. Moroccan children in Belgium, Turkish children in Germany, Pakistani and West Indian children in Britain, Algerian children in France, African-American, Hmong, and Latino children in the United States are alienated from their own cultures in their schools and learn to feel marginal to the mainstreams of thought and behavior in many of the communities in which they live. This type of cultural imperialism exists throughout the world, not merely in highly industrialized countries. It affects how Basarwa children are taught in Botswana's Kalahari Desert, how m...

As I complete my education at Touro College it indicates that I am taking the first step towards launching into a full-fledged career. Project management is defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements; and its methodology as the planning, monitoring, and control of all aspects of the project and motivation of all those involved in it to achieve the project objectives on time and to the specified cost, quality, and performance.” Being a temporary, one-time endeavor, it differs from the organization's operations and processes which are its current and permanent work to create a pro...

Children and Young People's Reflections on an Education

The reforms have to be brought from the top side of a nation, whereby the government needs to take bold steps to promote it no matter how hard it is on their budgets. Similarly, child development is a very significant aspect in the times of today. There is immense importance which is given to this subject. (Nespor, 1997) The basis is backed up with sufficient data and research which goes a long in establishing the fact that child development indeed owes a lot of attributes on the part of the people who are related to the child – the parents and/or its guardians. The aspects of love and training at the same time holds true for their balance bringing up the regime and this without a shadow of a doubt is a significant thing to...

Traditional Theories of Leadership

They now focus more on doing things whilst thinking about the times that will follow; building upon their strengths and aiming to address the grey areas. The eventual emphasis within the modern theories of leadership has been centered on the premise of bringing about a change that remains abreast of the times that will come ahead (Lynch, 2006). Changing the dynamic mindset of the organizational processes and behaviors is a significant undertaking and this has rightly been pointed out by these modern theories under the leadership tenet. The visionary role of leadership has made things easier, focused on the long term actions and sought clarification from the goal setting and objectives’ regimes (Zaleznik, 1989). The new theor...

Current Trends in the Marketing Communications Environment

Traditional marketing communication functions such as advertising and public relations have also extended over the internet, as companies utilize the web to reach target audiences. One example of this is Toyotas marketing campaign of its Scion brand in 2006 in Whyville.net, a website is set up to for kids age 8-15 in order to encourage greater interaction and induce brand loyalty (Cousineau & Scurry 2006). According to Cousineau & Scurry, with websites such as these where consumers can try the brands, in the kid's case—test driving the Scion—consumers interests are aroused which make them seek out [a] brand and interact with it on an ongoing basis rather than actively avoid it (2006, 37).

Mary Wollstonecraft on Education

Understanding that women are just as able as men in many capacities and some very important ways that she excels causes one to realize that no one should be able to take her rights away. It is the mother who gives protection for the initial nine months to the divine creative force of nature – regardless of whether the offspring is male or female. But what is prescribed in various secular and spiritual texts and what is practiced in society currently are contradictory. A female child is victimized during every step of her life, from the moment of birth, notwithstanding the fact that it is she who sacrifices at those stages. Women need to be the social, spiritual and legal equals of men. These were the arguments that Mary Woll...
