Name: Professor: Date: Fashion evolution to date Between the 1910 and 1920, design of women clothes started to loosen up with the input of French designers like Paul Pioret who encouraged trend of unconsented figure. These clothes conformed to the shape of a body of a woman and made them look good. This Trent was encouraged by the need for beauty and also the abolishment of the corseted clothing in the 1900 by governments. With the upcoming new fashion of the uncorseted women clothing, many women in Europe and America changed their clothing and moved on with the new trends and clothing in the market. During the years 1914-1919, designers like Paul Pioret were disrupted to by war and they were busy in the war as part of the military body thus there were no evolution in the French fashion. So between 1914 and 2020, there were no changes in the design industry and also the design business of Paul Pioret was down and to make it worse, there were no business connections between France and USA which was the main market of Europe at the time. As the male designers worked on depending the nation during the war time, a woman designer came up. This occurred in the 1915 when a French lady from west France came in to the limelight of design. She was making loose fitting chemise women clothes and also designing beautiful hats of the time. By 1916, she was designing clothes with belt in the hip. She also designed clothes like casual clothes which before the war were restricted to men underwear but with the breakout of war, there were changes in roles and women had no choice but to take place in the roles of men and to change fashion in order to provide for the involvement in the new functions in the society (Dressmaking Trade 455-482). With the consequence of war, shortages were inevitable and therefore Chanel’s practical but expensive jerseys seemed an instant option for many both rich and poor. It was also found to be more appealing to the wealth people of France and other markets this is because it made the reach look young, beautiful and casual. Contrast happened in that the French government promoted this form of dressing and made surer that it be supported financially throughout the war times and this made it look extra modern fashion of the time. Chanel’s designs With the end of war in the year 1920 women were liberated to work on their beauty. Fashion specialization companies erupted and women came up with new models of dresses for women and their lives became good. This is because with the upcoming stability and Pease in the European countries, the countries. This led to the rise of the fashions in the image below and this is contrary to the historic fashions of the 1st world war times in which women dressed in such a way that it conformed with changed roles whereby they dressed in order to get involved in their new roles and the changes in social and economic ways of life in the society. With the introduction of flexibility in the society changed and women chose clothes with the need of various styles to meet social and economic needs. Another major cause of changes in the 1920s is the eruption of cultural changes in the American and Europe. This is because there was new freedom of expression as a result of the newly found peace in the society (Steele, 32-33). With the change in American constitution in the 1920s, there was new freedom of expression awarded to women and thus fashion comp0anies had the opportunity to make various fashions to fit economic and social needs of women in the country. With increased women rights, there were also changes in the women closets ion that they now started wearing clothes for comfort rather than to cover their bodies. Gone were the days when women were just wives and mothers with no much responsibility in the work force and in the political world. This therefore brought a new light to the new era and ladies started clothing in such a way that there were more comfort as they were involved in the industrial productivity and other responsibilities which were constrained to the male sex only before then. Women therefore changed to dress in such a way that they expressed the best beauty of the time during 1920s. Fashion companies grew and with the freedom and Pease that these women enjoyed in the changing society, women worked to fulfill the demands of their beauty and external expression. Most of the clothing covered most parts of the body and it was because of the need to keep warmth while walking in the roads and in the fields. This form of fashion was applicable in the market and the fashion industry until the late 1930s when war broke up again and the people at to conform to the new ways. Clothing in London during the war During the Second World War, there were various changes in fashion in order to fit the changes in the social and economic set up of the European nations. With men busy in war and the need of production of war utilities like guns and other products, more people were needed in the factories to produce and to make sure that there is consistency in production and supply of the products much needed by the soldiers in the battle field. With the need of factory safety, the producers of the clothing had to conform to the changes in the societal structure and design of overalls came into existence (Ko, Dorothy, and Romeyn Taylor 41-42). There were also reports of factory accidents and thus the designers of the time had to come up with head clothing for women and men who had long hair to avoid accidents in the engineering workshops. The following are some of the photos of the year 1940s in Europe. Factory fashion During the war also, there was fear that there German bombers may discover people easily with the street lights of London so the government made sure that there was elimination of all streetlights which therefore led to a blackout condition and has made it impossible for them to see each other with the traditional ways of clothing. This led to the rise of illuminating designs which were produced in order to make sure that there was easy visually between people and also made it easy to communicate in darkness. This reduced danger of accidents between pedestrians and drivers in the streets of London. With the fear of outbreak of gaseous warfare, there was a design of breathing masks in the industry and this was adopted and gained many markets in the European as it was made to be a necessity for the civilians to have them in order to be able to avoid risk of contaminations and death in the villages because off the war which was unpredictable on what may happen. Handbag fitted with gasmask Another design which came up during the Second World War is the design of easy to wear clothes which could make it very easy for civilians to get into and run to external hideout in the night on an event of airstrikes in the night. This was made out of necessity and the need to make sure that it would be easy for civilians to avoid danger (Aubenas,et al., 2007). After the war, fashion changed and people started to look for beauty, there were no rationing in clothes and people dressed freely for freedom and comfort. During the war, rationing meant that making things out of what was available at that moment. After the war, resources flew back to normal and the fashion industry was restored and people made clothes for beauty and comfort again. This outlook was also influenced by other factors like Christian believes rather than war and rationing. Clothing style and fashion after the war With change and growth of different cultural practices, fashion changed so much. First after the war, some fashion which showed similarity with that of military body was introduced to ladies. This came out as a result of the influence of war on fashions and also military uniform were very popular in the European markets and thus the fashion was very popular in the, markets as shown by the following picture. The new fashion came up and there was registered evolution in the fashion market till today. The evolution on the fashion and make up was influenced by various factors as, cultural changes, growth of Christianity and believes and also for the comfort and beauty. Conclusion In conclusion, fashion has grown for many years since the start of 1900 till today. this was motivated by many factors (Gamber 455-482)Fashion companies and designers came up in order to meet various needs of time in the market from need to go through war times, the need to achieve various desires of the market and also the pressure to conform to laws which come up in the market.
