Making Decisions in Business Situations Speaking from an ethical context, it is duty bound for any business that has an existence to meet the needs of the customers through the different offerings in the form of its varied products and/or services. It asks for the business to be responsive towards the needs and requirements of the customers and defer the financial sides concerned with the company. It is important though not to ignore the monetary aspect but to remain in the business in the first place for the ones the business is being done, it is essential to situate the resources onto them and then move on forward expanding the market share and the like. Decision making in business is a significant aspect at understanding the scenarios which are presented from the different organizational perspectives. Similarly in science and any other field of study it is a difficult thing and one needs to understand what are the basic ways in which a decision can be arrived at, without wasting much time and using the best tools and techniques in order to achieve the same. These decisions are very crucial to the outcome of a project but certain things should be kept in mind that information is the single most significant thing in this whole process. Decision-making is indeed a very complex and well-developed area, one that has to be looked at by the researchers and lecturers with particular care. People think in different ways. They can either be positive about something or be very pessimistic about an approach. Nevertheless, the positive approach is the one, which is more rational, and understandable, as the negative might lead to something that may not ever happen in the future, yet become a relic. This is without doubt the reason that positive approaches are more or less quite successful. At times, the positive thinking on one’s part can lead to a problem from an emotional, insightful, creative or negative viewpoint. The reason for the same is that one might minimize the resistance to plans or misfire in making creative jumps every now and then. The need nonetheless, is to make contingency plans, the plans, which can come out of no where, when the need arises. This is in essence, the substitute plan for the first one. In relation with the decision making aspects, perception is something that relates a feeling or two with a task, a process or a person for that matter. Perception is intrinsic to a person and can or cannot be changed. However it takes a certain period of time to make a move in the mind of this person to change or amend his perception in one way or the other. Perception is also created when there is a positive or negative influence of a decision, product or service that we are talking about here. Perception cannot just remain for a long period of time but the same changes due to differing environments, conditions and atmosphere and so on and so forth. Perceptions have a long lasting impression on the minds of the people and this is a fact that will remain for as long as there is humanity and its eventual basis. A person’s perception of a certain individual within the realms of an organization means that this person starts to take the other employee in a light which might be or might not be attached with the personality of that individual. This could happen due to different reasons which are more based on the work regimes and environments. Business decision making aspects and the lack of attaining rewards or positive sayings in the work place due to this individual is another reason why the perception has been created for him. It is true that an organization which can learn can understand what are its responsibilities with regards to the society, the environment, its stakeholders and customers, its functions and different processes which have to be looked down up at with a legal and ethical perspective. This means that the organization emancipates its working methodologies in line with its already set values and moral principles. Moreover, it knows what are its obligations and compulsions towards all the above-mentioned. The organization is always willing and eager to learn from its mistakes, ready to bring in newer and fresh processes within its folds and always encouraging its stakeholders and employees to invest more money and time, respectively. Managing an organization is also an important function which comes under the learning principles. It has case studies and best case scenarios to look up to whenever there is a problem or trouble at hand and it knows who the right person is to contact whenever there is some discrepancy within the system. Add to that the organization tries to keep its contacts, no matter in which capacity they are, at a maximal point and always keeps on increasing so as to become a socially active player within the relevant industry. This knowledge base has the role of continuously improving the systems and working methodologies. It also has the best available middle management employees who know the technical basis of running the organization and whose potential can largely benefit the sound workings of the company. Thus it is very important to understand that an organization which is willing to place the knowledge base at level with the top management when it comes to calling the shots (taking the decisions), is willing to experiment in a very proactive manner; one that can reap rich dividends in the near future. Consequently, it is definitive to understand that not all the deeds of an organization be slated as clean and fair rather some of these are hidden from the common knowledge of even the workers who are working tirelessly upon them. Thus it is in line with the office level hierarchy and the same must remain as the case since there is no alternative for workplace discipline and ethics. The different communication styles can only work to the advantage of all and sundry when there is a genuine effort on the part of the managers to make their workers feel at ease with the changing trends, rising pressure regimes and so on and so forth.
