The importance of a correlation coefficient is to show the strength of a hypothesis. It is usually a number between -1 and +1. If it is close to +1 then it shows a strong hypothesis. However, if it is close to -1, it represents a weak hypothesis. In addition, enough statistics on the number and percentage through which sales increased as a result of the increase in per capita income are not provided. A sales hypothesis also calls for more chart analysis which this hypothesis does not provide (Robert, 2007).
