MORAL AND MOTIVATION AT CIRCLE HOUSING ASSOCIATION Introduction Circle Housing Association is an organisation which provides affordable housing and other related services within the United Kingdom. The organisation mainly provides the support for various individuals residing within the large cities. This has made the group to become one of the largest housing associations within the United Kingdom. The association provides funding for different individuals and manages many homes within the country. The organisation operates various small associations within the country which operate as associates of the main association. The organisation employs many individuals and the element of staff motivation is fundamental in ensuring prosperity within the association. With many other housing associations existing within the country, there is an increased requirement to ensure staff motivation in order to ensure increased output within this association. Statement of problem Within the United Kingdom many housing associations exist and perform similar functions in providing support regarding home ownership. Employees working within these organisations are faced by numerous challenges and can easily move between the associations. The associations must adopt approaches which ensure staff retention in seeking to achieve organisational objectives developed within the organisation. The availability of employees within an organisation is a fundamental element for enabling the organisation to achieve the organisational objectives. The heavy dependence of organisational success upon the employees necessitates the motivation of employees to ensure their job morale is relatively high. The level of motivation and the staff morale for employees working within the association is an essential determinant of organisational achievements. Purpose of the study This study critically analyses employee motivation within Circle Housing Association in seeking to establish the effects of this upon the employee morale. The staff motivation within the organisation is a fundamental determinant of the existence of high morale among employees. The purpose of this study is identification of the effects of motivation upon the employee morale within the organisation. These two elements are fundamental determinants of the employee performance, which is essential in achieving organisational objectives. The performance of employees within the working environment is significantly dependent on the morale which the individuals gains from undertaking work related responsibilities (Johnson & Yang 2010). The study will identify the existing relationship between motivation and staff morale within the housing association. Significance of the study Staff motivation and morale presents organisational elements which enhance the performance of employees. Performance is an element which could be adversely affected the motivation existing within the workplace. Effectively motivated employees commonly undertake their responsibilities with immense desire. The significance of the study is the determination of the effects of staff morale and motivation on the performance of employees in regard to the outcomes measured through the achievement of organisational objectives. The study will is significant to the various housing associations existing within the United Kingdom. The associations can utilise the findings of the study in seeking to enhance staff motivation for improvement of organisational outcomes. Research questions The research will seek to answer the following questions Does employee motivation enhance morale with housing associations? What other factors influence the morale of employees in seeking to ensure an employee is motivated to pursue organisational objectives. Methodology This research is a qualitative research which will seek to establish the existing relationship between staff motivation and the element of staff morale among employees working within Circle Housing Association located in Norwich. The research will utilise various approaches in undertaking the research to ensure the achievement of the purpose established within the research proposal. Research design The researcher will utilise exploratory design in the development the research. The fundamental purpose for the utilisation of this design is the capability for the exploration into new information finding in seeking to understand various phenomena occurring within an environment. this research design will enable the researchers to understand the effects of motivation and morale among the employees of the housing association identified within the research(Creswell 2013). These research designs provide a significant platform for gaining essential background information regarding a topic under study. The researches can be fundamental in establishing the priorities for future research in the topic. Sampling The target population for the research will be the employees of the housing association which has been identified. This is mainly because the study shall utilise this housing association for the generalisation of other housing associations within the country. The sampling for the study will be probability sampling which will ensure that all the employees have an equal opportunity for being selected within the study(Merriam 2009). Stratified random sampling will be utilised in the selection of the research participants. The element of stratification of the sample will be undertaken according to the different departments within which the employees work. This will ensure that the researcher can identify the different motivational factors within the different departments. Data collection The researchers will collect qualitative data through questionaries’ supplied to the various employees who will be selected to participate within the research. The questionnaires will include mostly open ended questions and also some closed ended questions. The development of the questionnaire will are dependent on the fundamental research questions which have been defined within the research. The questionnaire will have simple questions which will be aimed at answering the research questions which have been developed. The utilisation of questionnaires will be fundamental in ensuring secrecy of the participants as well as reducing the time for undertaking the research(Tracy 2013). Data analysis The data analysis will be undertaken in seeking to establish the knowledge gained form undertaking the research. Analysing of the collected data will enable the information collected to answer the research questions established by the research. Multivariate analysis of data will be utilised in the assessment of the existing relationships between different factors affecting the morale and motivation of the employees within the organisation. The main data analysis will include a confirmatory approach which will be employed in seeking to ascertain the answers to the defined research questions. The schematic approach which will be utilised in the data collection phase, shall present a self-validation element for the collected data. Descriptive statistics will be utilised in providing the summaries of the data collected from the research. These statistics will be utilised in describing the data collected from the research to enable the researcher to make conclusions. This will enable the researcher to generalise the findings of the research and make them applicable within other settings similar to the methodology described within the research. Ethical consideration The research will be undertaken within a private institution and the ethical consideration must be included within the research. The organisational authority will be sought by the research to engage employees of the organisation within the study. The participants will be contacted in person by the researcher and provided with a consent form seeking to explain to them regarding their role in participation. The consent form will be utilised in ascertaining participation of different individuals who will be selected for the target population. Limitations of the study The limitations of the study will include the following The time available for the researcher to conduct the research since the participants might be having work related activities. Generalisation of the motivational factors on employees working within different working environments but within similar organisations. There is a possibility of individuals providing false information which would result in skewed data, if they discuss the questions in the questionnaire before answering them.
