Week 4 LT Assignment The underlying principle of this paper is to recommend an action plan for teams and groups. The subject matter in this plan is to suggest operational change at Desert communications Inc. Desert communications Inc has operated in business for some time. Because of changes taking place within the communication industry, the net profits for Desert Communications Inc have declined. In this case, the company has initiated a strategic movement to reallocate resources to exploit the novel services of the communication industry.

Training would be a proposed method to enhance change of operation for workers. This paper, first; intends to recommend criteria to cultivate training, which would convey to multiple audiences in the organization. Secondly; provide techniques that group and the team would use to facilitate the victory of the training. Lastly; propose tactics that the team and the group would utilize to minimize and identify conflicts.I. How would you develop a training that conveys to multiple audiences within the organization?

Training method would involve each manager with the respective staff at the Desert Communications Inc. Managers are people who oversee their daily staff operations. In the company’s training, the managers would be the first individuals to receive training. Through training, they will acquire the new organizational policies upon which they can train staff. The managers of every group will direct and lead meetings continuously to present operation change at Desert Communications Inc. The company shall structure a training program in accordance to the company’s strategy and objectives.

The strategy would be aiming at high profits that should improve productivity. The multiple audiences would be required to respond to some questions. Who are the potential customers? Why do they buy from the company? Who are the competitors and how do they provide services in the market? What can be their competitive advantages? What weaknesses and strengths do this company has? What social trends have emerged and would be affecting the firm? The company shall develop on-the-job training that entails techniques like; role playing and simulation, assistantship and internships, job rotation, and programmed learning.

On-the-job training is where learning can be enhanced while performing regular tasks. In simulation and role playing, there would be an attempt to provide realistic decision making the condition before the trainee (Yukl, 2010, p. 34). Employees at Desert Communications shall present problems with alternative solutions for discussion. Assistantships and internships would train the prospective marketing personnel or managers. Job rotation shall enable an employee to complete a number of jobs in so as to develop a feeling for the task associated with various jobs.

Computer aided technique in the company will enable employees to learn at their pace.II. How will group and team collaboration facilitate the success of training?This company changed its operation strategies and every employee would be required to contribute in generation of its profits. Every employer in the organization shall obtain the necessary skills from the training. This will enable every partisan to do a project. Individuals will collaborate for the assigned project in the period of training.

The team shall complete the projects in due datelines. The team would be recommended to solve problems through clarification of their differences instead of holding various points of view (Robbins & Judge, 2011, p. 46). The members within the group or team shall trust each other, share common ideas, and work towards a common goal to valuable collaboration. The team must be developed where every member would be recognized to be valuable and imperative for the project. Team work embraces collaboration.

Every team member who feels valuable would always work towards accomplishing the tasks assigned. The team would be recommended to share thoughts that will build the company’s profits. In this case, every member is to widen his or her thinking and have goodwill that can initiate collaboration. Team leaders are to be chosen whose task would be to assign colleagues to errands so as to boost team collocation.III. What tactics will be used to identify and minimize conflict?No one can escape from conflict within a social environment.

A team would be required to embrace a spirit of oneness. In order to attain unity in the team and minimize conflicts, techniques have to be implemented. The team or group shall establish a sense of mutual mission. It is a critical task that fosters cooperation, offers a sense of self, establishes member equity, control fragmentation and contains defensiveness. The group or team shall structure incentives to act. Deadline, structured process, assigned responsibilities shall encourage members to act and presuppose the responsibility for team victory.

Arrangements to deal with the middle and extremes would be necessary incase of strident voices dominating the debate. The team leader shall control the strident voices and give an opportunity to the silent middle to present their views. The team shall search for a shared vision and a common ground. The team will rely on agreement on objectives, discovery of common requirements, and open discussion. The team shall use an incremental approach by implementing a step-by-step strategy to solve problems (Mintzberg, Lampel, Quinn & Ghoshall, 2003, p. 59). Taking bold decisions, gain headway, executed incrementally while reducing tension.

Attending to the implementers’ needs would be necessary for supervisors. The group shall pay attention to problems the decisions pose for individuals who should implement high-level directives.Summary The paper has developed a recommended action plan for teams and groups within the subject matter. The plan has presented ways that reflect on the upcoming operational change to employees in Desert Communications Inc. this has featured out through developing training for multiple audiences, the team collaboration to facilitate success of training, and tactics utilized to reduce conflicts.
