Strategy implementation INTRODUCTION There are several changes that have happened in the Stilsim Company during its 25-years experience in the human resource department, whereby each of the changes has brought about serious loss to the corporation. However, in spite of all the changes, the corporation has been able to change its standards during this period, whereas keeping or maintaining its old technology. Currently, the corporation should make critical changes so as to give it an edge over its rivals. The first thing that it needs to do is changing its mission statement and then improving its vision. Changing the mission statement is very essential as it plays a very critical role in the creation of a business image. Another thing that it needs to do is working on its statement of values and maintaining it. In addition, it is essential for the corporation to prepare a list of strategies that would enhance its success. For it to be in a position of identifying the dangers that it could encounter, there needs to be an organizational structure together with a backup plan to save the situation in case the structure fails. The company should utilize a system of behavioral control and the employees should be given incentives and rewards to motivate them. Lastly, the company should address the ethical issues about it by planning for the existing legal issues. It is without doubt that the implementation of the above changes will give the Stilsim Company the largest market share and an inception of new era. MISSION STATEMENT/VISION STATEMENT The name Stilsim means the enthusiasm that is felt in the industry. We have an extensive knowledge concerning the people and this shows how our company is recognized within the marked as well as the community. Our name, just like us, is very different. However, we have three offices located in central Ohio and our workforce there consists of several registered associates who offer flexible staffing yearly to our clientele’s accounts. We have vast experience in this field that goes for about 25 years, which gives use awareness regarding the present challenges, hence we supply you with staffing and service that can be able to sufficiently meet those challenges. STATEMENT OF VALUES: Factors that the company values mostly include quality customer service, Integrity, honesty, personal excellence, mutual respect, openness and continual self improvement. We focus on our customer and cliental and our top priority ensuring that they are provided with the best of the services. We can boast of respecting our clients, employees and shareholders and love offering the best results. We also provide our employees and clients with out handbook and brochures which contains all the fundamental information about us so as to make them understand us more. HIGH LEVEL ACTION PLAN Our company requires a high level action plan for the implementation of some changes. The purpose of this plan is ensuring that everything is managed well without leaving even a thing. The company’s action plan has been decided as it is a low cast strategy since it is as it is assumed that the best way at present for the success of the company is low cast. Now, the Stilsim Company is feeling the necessity of upgrading the technology that has remained the same ever since. As there are constant changes in technology in the current world and every important part of the industry, our company has not otherwise but to upgrade its technology. The company first should upgrade its database, which is a collection of information done in an organized manner. A good organization of the information helps the employees in accessing, managing and updating them in an easy way. Furthermore, the databases will help in the classification of information in accordance with its contents’ type. The Intranet would be another important technology change; the Intranet refers to a collection of private computer networks within an organization. This would be used as a tool for the facilitation of communication between the employers of the company and also between the workgroups so as to enhance the data sharing capability as well as the workers’ knowledge base. Another technology that would help the company greatly in busy talk time and missed calls is Voicemail. In order to market the company’s image to the outside world, it should upgrade its website. The website here refer to the collection of web pages and not web page. In upgrading the website, the company should acquire a full IT professional. The IT professional that would be hired by the company will be in charge of all the company’s technological aspects. The company’s technology requires an immediate attention examination and should be changed as quickly as possible since the company’s success is dependent on it. The low end service employees, is another are that the company should focus on. It should incorporate the college students into its staff apart from the experienced ones. The recruitment of college students is a significant step for the success of the company. In addition, the other important step that the company should take is the improvement of communication since it is one of the major problems being experienced by the company. When the intranet is introduced, the flow of communication will improve dramatically amongst the workers and the managerial personnel. Moreover, the communication can be improved by the establishment of a leadership in all departments. Each department’s leader will be in charge of its team and its problems. The improvement of the back office efficiency will be another important step. The matter should be given a serious attention as the discontentment of the employees and cliental are distorting the company’s image in a very bad way. Since the company is still reliant on the manual system, the employees’ desk is always filled with papers, which makes it very necessary for the upgrading of technology. Another significant step is the adoption of online marketing. The online market is very huge and the company should utilize the online job search by recruiting workers via it. The improvement of the company’s image and website would make more people become aware of it. The improvement in the employees’ productivity should also be another factor to consider. The management of the workers is done by the essence of their motivation. However, the direct relationship existing between the management of the company offers a work environment that attains the company’s objectives and modern human resource management. The last step should be the establishment of the office of HR. The corporation is in dire need of a department in charge of sourcing and hiring staff, tracking of applicants, development of skills and benefits administration with associated government regulations. Nevertheless, the HR’s responsibilities include hiring, firing, payroll, benefits and being updated with the federal and state lax of laws. ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN Talking of the organizational structure, it means the grouping of individuals in the organization and also to the individuals that they are answerable to. The corporation requires a leader with the absolute knowledge of the happenings in the company. The leader is Bill simmon, and he should fully involve himself in the business. He should ensure that a manager is assigned to each department whereby each of them will be in charge of his or her department and must meet with the CEO every week to update him on the happenings and any changes happening in the company. In other words, the company will adopt a functional structure of organization; which is one that isolates some duties and further splits them into simplified ones for specialization. The structure of functional organization divided the company’s activities into functional departments such as customer service, marketing, information technology and accounting. Events within this kind of structure are divided into functional departments such as information technology, marketing, accounting and research development and customer service. Soon, the company would be very organized and would smoothly develop without any problems. RISKS/BACKUP PLAN We should be optimistic and believe that there will be a great positive change in the company if this plan is strictly followed. It should however be taken into consideration that the implementation of these strategies will have to come with some risks. Therefore, it is important that a backup plan be in place. The confronting of Bob Henderson whose bad attitude is having a negative effect on the employees’ morale is the first thing that should be done. He has had a bad attitude for more than two years, since the acquisition of the Mountain View Office. The company should either warn him to refrain from that or just show him the door. Another risk for the company is suing Maxium who is under the law case following the claim that was made by another corporation regarding his theft of a customer that he dealt with. I believe theft is a very addictive behavior and this individual should be eliminated as soon as possible since it is likely that the same mistake might repeat itself. The last risk would be the retiring of Bill Simmons, a thing that he is ready to do since he is getting old, or simply persuade him to adapt to the changes, even though he has not been doing that for so long. CONTEMPORARY CONTROL Strategic control is defined as a process by which different strategies that the company adopts to check whether these strategies are helpful in the company’s internal environment with respect to the external environment are monitored. More so, the control enables managers to be in a position of examining the programs of the company from a long term critical point of view. Implementing strategic control is essential as it would monitor two things; that the implementation of the strategy is done in accordance with the plan, and whether the outcomes of the strategy are the intended ones. It is important to establish whether the planned strategies help in the achievement of objectives or not. BEHAVIORAL CONTROL In order to achieve its objectives, the company should adopt behavioral control. This is a strategy that would help in the monitoring of employee behaviors and would also examine workers accordingly on the basis of the subjective measures of abilities and activities. The manager would examine the efforts as well as the inputs of the workers and see if they are up to the expectations. The employee is then rewarded on the basis of his or her performance. Ethics In Stilsim ethics refers to a written or unwritten principles and code of values that would direct or guide all the actions and decisions within the company. Ethics play a critical role in ensuring a company’s success; in today’s business world, the organization’s culture sets standards establishing the difference between the good and the bad decisions and behavior. The manager of the company should play a leading role in the establishment of ethics within the company. The employees would only follow what the manager does. The company’s leaders are fully responsible for the setting of standards on what should be acceptable about the behavior of regarding the employees and what is not accepted. The managers should create a working environment whereby the workers find it easy to work in an ethical way. Conclusion With the twenty-five years of experience that the company has, a huge base of clients and its loyalty would greatly help in its success. The company currently undergoing a rough time, and it will only be able to rise again if the right individuals and right strategy. Definitely, we are sure of taking the company that has been built from scratch by Bill Simmons to another level. Chart Reference: Dess, G. G., Lumpkin, G. T., & Eisner, A. B. (2010).
